Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

So when is Galaxy going to be open source? And when is it going to be truly optional? The only time I ever think about it is when it's entirely not optional like with Dying Light.

XyleDaylight: So when is Galaxy going to be open source?
Did they claim it will be, or is this similar to "When will Dark Souls be open source"?

avatar
XyleDaylight: And when is it going to be truly optional?
For single player, it will always be optional. For multiplayer, it depends on the game whether it will be optional or not.

Dying Light has LAN play that doesn't require Galaxy.
I am unable to import Shelter (1) into the new Galaxy client. I redownloaded the newest installer directly from Galaxy and install the game without Galaxy. Galaxy does not recognize the game after restart and does not find the game when I try to import it via "import folder" option.
I've tried to update windows 7 and still appears the ucrtbase.terminate problem.

TomaszGOG: For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5. Please install this windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226
You may need to update Windows (Like having service pack 1 in Win 7) for this update to be applicable.
This applies to you too:)
Anyone else notice that the Overlay is "working" now? In order to get it working I had to launch the Galaxy Client through steam, then launch the game I wanted to play through the galaxy client. Once in game I can hit "shift + tab" and the Galaxy overlay will come up (instead of Steam's). It has a window for the current game's achievements/playtime, your friends list, and the chat window for a selected friend.

I've installed the update, but still doesn't work. Now just doesn't start, without any message.

Try reinstalling 2015 VC redist and Galaxy Client, also while copy-pastying the .dlls you could've took wrong version, i'm not sure they're being overwritten by updates, so there also might be an issue :(

I have a question - I understand that the overlay is restricted to Witcher 3 now, for testing purposes.

But how will it be implemented for other games, when the time comes for that?
What I mean is: will game installers be modified to be compatible with Galaxy overlay, or will the overlay not need any special accounting for by games?

I'd really like to know the answer, if it's not some sort of a secret, I mean. :P

Prison Architect should also be able to use the overlay, assuming it doesn't hang when you try to call it. Don't think the installers will need modifying, but not exactly sure how the overlay works. Worst case scenario, Galaxy downloads a few extra dlls per game, or uses the required dlls from a central location.
Thanks, though I'm wondering if any blue might give me the official answer. ;)
So what is the keystroke to bring up the overlay normally? My overlay so far will only load if I am launching galaxy through steam?
I installed assassins creed through the installer (from the last year I think), then I went to gog galaxy to add the game to the program through the "scan and import folders" option. But no matter if I select the "gog galaxy" folder (where the game files are located) or the directory where the game was installed, gog galaxy keeps saying "Did not find any game to import".
I have that folder on my D: partition, if that matter. I hope this will be fixed.

Edit: If I go directly to the game and then select to import it from there, it works.

This is why I'm so against using front end software to play a game,. I haven't used Steam in a lng time and do not buy games dependent on Steam running to be able to play them. I bought this game not even wanting to install Galaxy and thought for the extras or achievements to complete and post during the game, I would need it . My Win 7 is fully updated, minus 34 language packs I don't need. Until this update, launcher worked fine. Now get an installer error l1.1.0.dll is missing. I uninstall C++2015 and try to reinstall and still won't complete. Then I get another dll is missing error when trying to launch, due to uninstalling 2015, instead of it updating. So I do a restore. Now I go an download CRT from the KB update and it pops up it's not applicable to my system. Was there an actual need to change the Galaxy programming to C++2015 to do a simple call to provide library, updates and achievement notification? If I do find a fix, I'm reluctant to even uninstall Galaxy and try to re-install to find it won't sync or add games back in.
