== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

MarkoH01: Good idea. I second this.
I've pushing for this for a while, hopefully now they might consider it. Anyway, I guess release of 1.2.x won't be until next week.

MarkoH01: And I thought I was the only one. Still have a notification about two unread PM. Since the whole system does not exist anymore they will never go away. I once asked GOG about it but they could not help. So I just live with it. I still use it and prefer it.

Good idea. I second this.
Yeah, I never even considered filing a support request as the program is unsupported now and they'll most likely just say that and strongly urge using Galaxy via copy and paste of a premade support script. I thought of uninstalling the program, blowing away any left behind metadata turds, and reinstalling it but haven't tried that yet. :)

BKGaming: You know what we need to spice up chat some... emoticons ( and some gaming related ones)... I know your listening, let's make this happen. :P
Why waste time with something so useless?

Won't work because those notification flags are not on your system - they are on GOGs system.

Because it's something people expect to have in a chat feature? Useless to you perhaps, but some people do like them.

But there are no notification flags on the server side right now.

I used to hate them, and I think I kind of still do. So much communication software has integrated emoticons and emoji now though that I've noticed a few times I've used a smiley like - :P - and not got an emoji verision that I wondered why, then realized it was the GOG forum or chat and went "ahhhh". :)

I'd rather them spend their time and resources on bigger fish features though than emoji. :P

Of course but I assume eventually we will get to a point where they will ask themselves.... what can we add now? Emoji's will cross the mind of someone. :P

Also that depends on how it's done... there are some library's out there one could use. Twitter has one which is open source and would take no time at all to add by the looks of it. Of course I'm not sure how GOG is handling the whole chat feature though.

Still there are tools availble to handle this...

How can you know that? Only because they don't use the system anymore does not mean that the database is not existent anymore. Also if it the problem would not be on server side an install on a completely new OS should delete them and it did not.

I guess I'm lucky that most forums I frequent don't use emoticons, same with the IRC client I have. ICQ isn't really a thing anymore, so that's off the list. SMS uses emoticons, albeit very limited. So I'm actually good in my daily life.

Yep, that's for sure.
Hi.

I have a recent problem with GOG Galaxy.

Every time i try to install a game it downloads and places the game folder in the directory just fine, but during the final configuration phase in Galaxy it fails and says

"INSTALLATION FAILED:CONFIGURATION ERROR"
And a pop-up on the top right corner that says "installer execution failed" or something like that.

Didn't have this problem couple of days ago with installing Full Throttle.

Only recently when i tried installing Vampire Bloodlines and Saints Row 4

I checked the net for solutions and tried everything i found
admin privileges, disabled defender anti-virus,disabled UAC, and checked to see if the folder has read/write permissions

The only thing that remains to do is uninstall Galaxy completely, but i'd rather wait for it to go to public beta before i do that.

i'm on win7 64

P/S the games play fine, i just cant run/update them with Galaxy

I mean when I log into the GOG website there are no notifications showing yet they still show up in GOG Downloader. I haven't installed it on a completely new OS to test your theory out, but yes if someone does a brand new OS install with no previous files on the hard disk, installs GOG Downloader and it has notifications and none are showing on the website, then GOG's back end is fubar. Doesn't really matter much though as there's no chance in hell they'd fix it at this point I don't think.

In fact I'm pretty convinced that they're unlikely to devote barely any time to the downloader anymore except fixing links people report as broken only after pressuring them to use Galaxy first. Reason I say that, is that I just went to download The WItcher 3 GOTY with GOG Downloader and the resulting download is completely broken and missing 2 files required. The game was updated a month ago and over a month has passed and the download is still broken on the GOG website. This means that either nobody downloaded it using GOG Downloader or gogrepo.py during that time, or nobody downloaded it and installed it to find out that it doesn't actually work, or people did do those things and nobody bothered to report it to GOG as being broken.

Seems that nobody actually uses it anymore though. I suspect the number of people using it are a tenth of a percent of GOG users at this point though. I'm not even sure if I should bother reporting the problem to them. I downloaded the missing two files directly with Firefox and was able to install the game.

I am quite sure I did download the GOTY version (using GOG downloader) of W3 not so long ago and it worked fine since I installed it just a few days ago. But I can download it again if you like.
