Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Tbh it's kinda hard to determine what the problem is with this. I would suggest comtacting GOG support.
Latest update for Ashes of the Singularity v 2.1 through gog Galaxy corrupts the game data and results in all save games being lost.
Well... I poked in here to see if Galaxy was developed enough to be worth reinstalling. I guess the answer is still no.

kmetek: you in menu in some games there's a button CONNECT NOW?
If you have a GOG game installed on your computer that is not owned by the user account that you are using with Galaxy, then Galaxy client will detect these games and add them to the left sidebar as being installed however it will not recognize them as being owned by the user to whom is currently logged in. When this happens it displays a blue button "CONNECT NOW" which links to the store page for that game for he user to buy that game for their own account.

This is likely to occur if for example more than one person uses the same computer and each of them has their own account on GOG.com where they purchase games, or if for some reason a person owns more than one account and has different games in each of their accounts. There are a few other scenarios as well. If you do own the game in question in the account you are logged into with Galaxy client and it is not recognizing it, then you may need to either reinstall the game or reimport it with Galaxy, or you may need to contact GOG support in case there is a problem of some sort.

Hope this helps.

Depends on one's expectations and willingness to beta test software like Galaxy under development. It's worth installing for a great many people as millions use it daily, however it may not be ready for every single person out there. It is beta afterall. :)

If one does not want to beta test things nor report bugs to help see them fixed, then Galaxy probably is not worth installing however.

Trust me, you are not alone in feeling that way... skeletonbow is 100% correct, but even beyond the point of this being beta Galaxy is suffering.

If you expect anything different then when you first installed it (except less bugs) , then no it's sadly not worth it if your first impression wasn't enough. GOG for some reason (even though most of us hate it and wish they didn't) insist on doing large drawn out updates with only minimal features or bug fixes in between. The next major update planned is 1.2 and we are expecting it to be soon.

Most of us are crossing our figures it drops any day now... anything to draw some fresh excitement around Galaxy which it is currently lacking. Many people in this thread, and around other gaming communities are very critical of how Galaxy is being handed. So far GOG has not signaled any willingness to change how these updates are being done to speed up access so us end users get new features quicker. Even this thread remains scarce for days now with very little discussion taking place, again signalling the need for Galaxy to receive a major update and some excitement. Like a lot of things GOG does, they have good ideas but execution is often questionable and less than ideal.

Hopefully once 1.2 drops it will be worth checking out again, which GOG has previously said will be released as a preview update first before officially being released. This is by no means a dig at the developers working on Galaxy, I am generally excited about 1.2 and I believe it will be a great update but I can't help but feel this project is not being handled in the best possible way.

And once again I wrote way more than intended... but I also can't help but feel disappointed were still here talking about 1.2 and it not being available. Still here talking about a version of Galaxy that has largely remained the same in over a year and half with only minimal features added and bug fixes. Some smaller indie games are built in a year and half, but somehow Galaxy remains the same. I can't think of any software I've used recently that is under active development (regardless of beta/alpha) that didn't get any major features in a year and half.

Of course most of our concerns about Galaxy's lack of major updates could be easily subsided by some real communication about where the Galaxy team is, what we can expect and when. Even that, however, seems to be to much to ask for.

However, if by some miracle I wake up tomorrow and 1.2 has released I will stop my complaining, shut up, and give GOG all the congratulations and good jobs they will (likely) deserve. Will not hold my breath or anything though. :P :)

I think the best way to predict when Galaxy 1.2 might enter preview is to keep an eye out for any news online regarding a potential release date for Gwent. I don't expect we'll see a Galaxy 1.2 in preview for at least 2 months, and if we're right in believing cloud save game support is coming in 1.2 (based on many factors discussed previously in the thread and elsewhere) then it may take some brave souls to permit Galaxy to have access to manipulate one's sacred save games during a beta test. I imagine that could be a fun time for sure. :)

It's too bad that they're unable to split out individual features being developed over time and release them one at a time for us as they're deemed ready. That would be a devel model not unlike Firefox for example, where they aim a feature for a given release, but when the date for that release comes along if the feature isn't ready - it doesn't make the cut and goes back in the fold for potential release in the next version.

It would also minimize the impact on users to test features one at a time and work the kinks out too I believe. If we get a big mega update all at once in 4 months, there could be a lot of stuff broken/buggy that needs updates to fix. Hopefully their internal QA process nowadays can catch the majority of problems so we never encounter them though too.

I tend to agree a release of 1.2 before Gwent officially releases is most likely if we don't see it anytime soon. They would be crazy not to use that press of a pretty significant release for CD Projekt Red to show off a new version of Galaxy.

At the same time though, as I said before Gwent is in beta and is widely available to the public even as an invite only beta. If Gwent will be using some currently unreleased API's in the future then it makes more sense to get 1.2 out to preview as soon as possible so Gwent players can test these new features while that game is still in beta. So if true, I expect 1.2 long before Gwent's official release date.

Regardless GOG will do well to search wide, the criticism is coming from more places than just this thread.
Hey I just got quite a few new updates with the tag (CS) in my GOG Galaxy library. Anyone know what these updates are? (Cloud Storage?) They're only around 0.1MB in size anyway.
Galaxy 1.2 is coming out today to preview channel

Haha, you were right!
Galaxy client starts updating (1.1.30 version) and then i get a window message that it cannot update, even though i checked the option "receive preview updates to test upcoming features".

Edit: Nevermind, i restarted the client again and update worked now. \o/

The GOG Galaxy 1.2 update is slowly rolling out to everyone has the preview updates option selected in the GOG Galaxy settings. If it's not available for you yet, try again in a few minutes.
