== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Found a minor glitch in Galaxy client, where when clicking on "DOWNLOAD EXTRAS" from the main library view for a given game, sometimes you are taken directly to the game's download extras page while other times you are taken to the game's install/news/achievements page instead. The bug is that it should always go to the download page, but instead it acts a little random. The issue is not 100% reproduceable and may not show up when someone tries to click on DOWNLOAD EXTRAS the first few times. If you use the client heavily for a while viewing lots of games and manually switching views and going to their download page from their installer page however, at some point in time the client screws up and the main library page links to DOWNLOAD EXTRAS will take you to the game's install page instead of the download page. When it does this, it does not do it for all games but seems rather random. Filed a bug in mantis to track the issue for now.

If someone else is able to reproduce this and can figure out a way to reliably trigger the issue on purpose, please feel free to add comments to my bug report. If anyone is unable to reproduce it, you may need to tinker around a lot with the client without restarting it before you notice the problem at all. Just a minor issue, but it is a bug nonetheless. I may make a video of the problem if I get bored some time if GOG can't reproduce it on their own but I'd rather not if I can avoid it. :)

flying_phoenix: For some reason game time tracking doesn't work for any of my games. I don' t understand as I am always connected to the internet. I go to configurations and Game Time Tracking's box is gray and unselectable.
avatar
skeletonbow: Game time tracking is very experimental and unreliable right now, but hopefully it'll be fixed in the next versioned release.
I see thank you. I hope it is fixed as well. I really wonder just how much time I put into The Witcher III for example.

I've never had any issues with Galaxy tracking my play time, it seems to work just fine. Are you starting your games directly through Galaxy or through a desktop shortcut? As far as I can tell, Galaxy doesn't track the game time when using desktop shortcuts, unfortunately. I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to work, though.
Can someone please tell me how to uninstall this garbage Galaxy??? This is most evil client I have seen! There is no option to uninstall it and is not even registered with windows as installed application, so I cannot uninstall it from windows 7. I hear all kind of complaints about Steam but they are far better than GOG Galaxy: at least I can uninstall it anytime I want! So I ask: is there anyone who can tell me how to get rid of this insidious app? Thank you!
None of the "Flatout" game extras can be downloaded through Galaxy client due to "server problem". I'm mentioning it here just for those keeping track and making sure their local backups are complete. JudasIscariot has fixed these type of problems quickly in the past so this will probably get fixed fast too. People who have downloaded their backups using Galaxy client will need to re-download these files once they're fixed. If anyone wants to track the issue:

The Witcher 3 has a separate game time keeper built into the game. You can see it from one of the game's in-game menu screens for your character. It keeps track of the game time whether or not you are using Galaxy and it's time is separate from Galaxy's timer.

That may be so, but if you read through this forum thread back one page at a time you'll find that anywhere between 1 to 5 people report Galaxy's game time tracking to be broken regularly so it isn't a case where it works for everyone, or it works for nobody. It is a case where it is known to be buggy, GOG has acknowledged this and is working on improving it, and some people encounter it regularly while other people either don't encounter it or they aren't paying close enough attention to notice that they encountered it. Either way it is not only a bug, but one that is confirmed. There are also bug reports about it in mantis.

The problem is confirmed to happen when launching the game directly within Galaxy client, and while Galaxy is connected to GOG and with a functional Internet connection. Keep using it enough and it will most likely happen for you too.

Be aware that Galaxy is not a finished product, but rather is an in-development product that is in beta testing. Using beta products means wanting to test them and provide bug reports back so that they can be fixed. People who do not want to test things and report bugs probably should avoid using beta software at all and wait until it is an officially released product at which point it will probably be much more feature complete and also more stable and reliable.

Having said that, Galaxy does indeed register itself with Windows and show up in the control panel with an option to uninstall (screenshot attached, Windows 7/x64). Have a look again in case you missed it, but if it's not there then perhaps something went wrong. If you really do not have an entry in the control panel for it, then you could try running the installer again to reinstall it and then uninstall it which might work. Otherwise you may have to delete the directory where you installed it to manually. In addition to that, it creates a data store under C:\ProgramData which you may want to locate and delete also as it can be several gigabytes in size.

Hope this helps.

When I attempt to add a game to Galaxy, it tells me that it can't find any games to import when I direct it to the game's file location. Happens with Rogue Legacy and Wasteland 1. I'm noticing that when I look in the folders through Scan and Import Folders, there aren't any game launcher icons appearing, yet they are there when I look them up in Windows.

Anyone know what's up?

Thank you skeletonbow for your reply! No it does not show in my win7 control panel as installed game, that is why I was so desperate to get it uninstalled as I do not like to have any app/game that does not show in control panel...I started the Galaxy via its .exe command and saw it being updated by close to 90MB...galaxy client started as normal but it still did not show in my control panel! So, I did what you suggested, manualy deleted all files at all mentioned location! PS: it also stores files under user/AppData/Local and allusers/.... directory...all up there was 4 locations where it had galaxy files, including C:\ProgramData, and C:\Program Files.

I always start games via client. Despite this I never have had any of my games track a single minute for me.

Yeah, i know what's up:) As the versions of these games aren't entirely compatible with Galaxy Client, the Client won't find them using Scan and Import Folders feature. To import them and avoid additional downloads (assuming you've got patched game with newest updates installed) go to Library, click on Wastelands/Rogue Legacy and from More -> Manage menu choose Import Folder and point to a folder where the game is installed. Hope that helps:)

Maybe something went wrong during install, because Galaxy definitely gets registered in the windows programs list and can be uninstalled from the control panel.

If there really is no Galaxy entry, open the folder of your Galaxy installation and use "unins000.exe" to uninstall the client manually.
