Bookwyrm627: The specific "settings" (if you will) for a given game are entirely up to the mod. I can answer general questions,
Thank you.
avatar
Bookwyrm627: but I can't and won't answer questions specific to the on-going game (and if you have any questions specific to the current game, then you should only ask them in the game thread or PM the mod).

Keeping the game in the game thread is important. You can PM the mod, but don't PM anyone else (including/especially other players!) about the game. Not here, not on other sites, don't look over your brother's shoulder while he's trying to do game stuff, etc
OF course! I wouldn't think of asking questions about the ongoing game outside of the game's thread. I was merely asking about general GOG mafia setup, not with relation to this game in particular. Thank you for caring enough to give the warning.

Bookwyrm627: The one main exception: there is an observer/dead thread that generally becomes available to those that have died in the game, and non-players may also be granted access (at the mod's discretion). Any discussion about the game can take place openly in the observer thread since the thread is not public.
Thank you for that further bit of info! It is appreciated.

Fran67: Hi. I'm still trying to get my head around all this but I'm still in. Might not be posting all the time, though.
Please post in the game thread now. Or ask the mod for a replacement. Not playing at all isn't fair towards the other players.
We need a replacement player in game #57. Send me a message if you're interested.
I just read JoeSapphire's latest post in the game thread, and since it's Night, I wasn't sure where to ask.

Does his post mean that the game won't resume tonight but sometime tomorrow?

And what does that "and gog doesn't like it" mean/have to do with anything?

It's weird phrasing, so I'm not entirely certain, but: There's something about Joe's work environment that gog "doesn't like"; specifically causing the weird behaviour that he can't start up a chat with someone by himself while at work, though he can reply to chat messages. So if he has chat messages from all players, he can reply to everyone when he re-opens the game, speeding things up.

I also read his post as it "probably" not resuming tonight (unless he can find internet access after all, but that isn't looking hopeful)

I hadn't realised that his chat issues were related to his place of work specifically (thought they were in general). Makes sense now; cheers.

I believe he is stuck with Internet Explorer at work... and I don't even know if he has internet access at home yet.

Cool! Hope he lets me borrow his time machine some day.

Yuck. About the first thing I did on my PC was download Opera & disable IE. Hearing that people still use it...pains me.

I don't think it's by choice... it just says a lot about the quality of IT support at his work.

So he is playing games at work? I guess some people are just irresponsible and unreliable!!

Wait, I'm at work right now... Oh no...

You have a bad feeling about this as the boss enters the room. You hide the browser window just in time.

Also, I use Internet Explorer by choice...if only to browse Steam with it. I wouldn't let Firefox touch it with a ten meter pole.

No. No. No. No. No. He uses a time machine to work in the 90s.

No, he works now. It's the IT technicians that commute here from the '90s.

Hearsay! Libellous slander! I definitely don't play mafia from work either.
