dedoporno: 1) Thank you for the kind word, my friend, but I can't buy that reasoning. Adalia basically pointed me as one of his top two scum picks initially and even though his opinion of me improved very slightly I was never the most popular of townies around here. After all I was one of the more vocal people on his wagon, jumping on and off, and whatnot. There was no way I was getting killed by scum tonight and you should know that.
2) And after all the asking around of who experienced what and having prolonged discussions with people about this you decided that a noise causing your character to unsheathe his weapon was nothing at all?
1) I had you strong town, but then I'm usually in the minority on my opinions (I think I was the only one who had Agentcarr as strong town last game), and I agree with you that you generated enough FoS down the stretch I wouldn't have expected you to be hit. But the point is a bit ambiguous for a few reasons.
2) I think this is the more salient point. Admittedly I just woke up, but I'm really not getting why Trent concealed that. If he's town, I'm not sure what he loses by saying he was tracked regardless of whether tracker is town or non-town. Easier to make sense of the move if he's not town.
More generally, Trent's insistence that someone wouldn't know they're protected can be WIFOMed to either conclusion (either a true claim, or an anticipated claim he's been setting up), but he wasn't investigated as far as anyone else knows, so whether he's telling true or not, he has to know that at least for D2 the claim he's making is a safe one.
I'm going to suggest two alternative strategies just for discussion - at this point I'm not advocating either, just wrestling with the pros/cons: [Edit - I decided not to suggest the second for now]
A) Mass claim. Even before the claim we had as many as 4 night actions on the table, at least some of which were certainly town. Add in Trent's claim of protecting and dedo's tracking and we have as many as 6 out of the pool of 11. If we're not doing it D2, it seems inevitable that it will happen D3.
And RW isn't around to suggest that it's "the strong town play but no fun."
