Progress update on Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
Assigned by Dessimu

I acquired the Urn of Sacred Ashes and have cured Arl Eamon of Redcliffe, who also joined my allied forces. After that, my party ventured into the Brecilian Forest to convince the Dalish Elves to join my cause. I was able to set the werewolves free and secure the elven forces.
Now, everything is ready to call the Landsmeet, a gathering of all the human noble families to discuss the matter of succession of the empty throne of Ferelden. But before I will start that section of the game, I will try to finish all the remaining sidequests, if possible.
At this point, I think the game becomes a little bit too easy, as I was already able to slay two High Dragons which should be comparable in strength to the endboss - the archdemon. All my companions are around level 20 now.
Therefore, I will first finish the other DLC campaigns before I return to the main game to finish the storyline. I already played The Darkspawn Chronicles, which was a refreshing experience. After all, you play as the bad guy ;)
Next will be Leilana's Song, then The Witch Hunt and last but not least The Golems of Amgarrak.

I hope I will be able to finish the DLCs and the main game until the end of the week, so that I can start the expansion Dragon Age: Awakening next week. :)

Cheers!

Nice! Have you made any romance yet? There's one thing about the romance that made my jaw drop a little, but I would like to leave everything for you to find.
So i have a bit of dillema. I have 4 options in my serious backlog: Divinity Original Sin EE (played already the classic/stndard version), Wasteland 2 DC (played already classic/standard version), Satelite Reign and Lords of Xulima. Would love to replay the first two, but i also have two games that i never played...So, i'm open to suggestions here.

Don't play W2 DC, unless they fixed it very recently the camera was/is awful.
I had way more fun in the original version.
So...1 vote against W2: DC.

Lords of Xulima, unless you're just not in the mood for its style. (You'll reload a lot until your party gets a few levels under their belts.)
Well, i am in the mood for any of those 4. Thing is i have time for only 1. Hence, me coming here and trying to garner some pros and cons. Xulima is somtehing that i picked up after seeing a couple of youtube movies. Difficulty it's something that i expect in a good RPG, so if Xulima it has a decent difficulty, i have nothing against it. How is it in terms of story, levelling, looting?

Storywise, you need to play Witch Hunt last. It happens after every other DLC, even Awakening. It's the "final chapter" before Dragon Age 2.

Personally, I did not play any of those four games, but I very much like the look of Lords of Xulima! So out of curiousity - play it and share your experiences with us ;)

As I have a male character and all my companions are at an approval of 100, I could romance either Leilana or Morrigan. I started the respective dialogues, but reloaded after them - I simply cannot decide between these two, so I probably finish it without a romance ;)

Thank you for that clarification, I did not know that! So I will play The Witch Hunt last. Is The Golems of Amgarrak also supposed to be played after the main story of Origins?

Cheers!

Progress update on Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf

I just beat Battle Realms and it was a great experience. I must say that this game is a quite unique RTS game, from unit production to resource gathering and upgrades its different than any other RTS games that I palyed, like Starcraft or Age of Empires.
I liked the fact that you could kind of combine units to create even powerfull ones. The story, sound and music are enjoyable too.

Next up: Battle Realms Winter of the Wolf
With two votes for: Lords of Xulima is the one that i will start playing this week-end. Will keep you updated.
I've completed Broken Sword. Overall I've really enjoyed it even if the story got a little weird in the end. Can't really say that I completely understood what the Neo-Templars were up to.

Graphics are timeless because of their cartoonish nature and will probably still work very well in another 20 years. Music was great. Dialogues and characters were very well written and most of the puzzles were fair (there was only one at the excavation site that I consider unfair, because you have to do something that the game told you not to do before).

I can definitely recommend this game to every point and click adventure fan (but most of them have probably played it by now anyhow).

My next "big" game will be Age of Wonders (I have already completed the first two missions), but you can help to choose me another game that I can play when I don't have too much time or when I don't feel like playing a strategy game:

80 Days
A Boy and his Blob
Card City Nights
Pony Island
HuniePop
Pandemonium!
Wacky Wheels
Kingdom Rush
Beatbuddy - Tale of the Guardians
Unholy Heights
Duke Nukem
Escape Goat 2
Gateways
Puddle
MX vs. ATV Unleashed

PaterAlf:
Congratulations! Well done, indeed! Broken Sword is definitely one of those games I still have to play in the future ;)
I am very interested to see how your experiences with Age of Wonders will turn out to be - hope to hear from you soon!

As your "off-game", I shall select Escape Goat 2 for you. I already played the first title and enjoyed it very much, although the very last level of the story mode nearly drove me into insanity... because of that, I did not attempt the bonus levels and honestly do not intend to.

Cheers!

You should definitely try one of the bonus levels just for the fun of it. They are really insanely hard (even the last of the normal levels feels like a tutorial compared to them). :)

Challenge accepted. I will play Escape Goat 2 next.

I am sorry, PaterAlf, but this is not going to happen anytime soon. Of the almost six hours it took me to finish the first game, I roughly estimate that three to four hours were spent on the last level alone. It was infuriating.
It was fun as long as I still had to figure out the right course of action... but actually executing this strategy was really hard for me.

Nevertheless, I hope I will enjoy your updates on Escape Goat 2 ;)
