Tower of Time is a daily flash deal today on the homepage - and only shows a windows icon, so (while logged out) I skipped over it as uninteresting - except that it does actually have a Linux version! Gog is losing out on potential Linux sales by not having the product tile accurately indicate availability for Linux.

The same thing happens in the main navigation menu, where it's showing under "Bestsellers", also with only a windows icon. I think I recall having noticed the same thing with other games, too, but this is the first time where it got close to equating a lost sale. (Sadly Tower of Time has a minimum Ubuntu 17.04 requirement, while I don't intend to upgrade my 16.04 for the next two years, so it wasn't actually a lost sale for me, but still.)
For me, on the Tower of Time's page, there are :
- the tux icon
- mentions of Ubuntu 17.04, Mint 18.2 and Debian 9 in System requirements
- but only Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10) in Game details - "Works on"

System Requirements are to be taken with a grain of salt, they mostly reflect on what the game has been tested on. My system still runs Mint 18 (Ubuntu 16.04 based) and this game runs perfectly fine :-)

Sometimes even the hardware requirements are a bit overkill. I suggest checking out youtube videos and other websites to see how a game runs on what.

EDIT: I just noticed Huinehtar did list Mint 18.2.

I thought the point of this thread https://www.gog.com/forum/general/linuxvangog_fantastic_linux_mac_guy_and_where_to_find_him was to report problems.

@linuxvangog has vanished from the forum and Reddit. I think GOG changed communication policy, and forbade developers from talking to the community.

If you have difficulties installing your GOG games on Linux Mint, you might want to give a try to ./play.it.

You could also try to use a terminal and run the installer with an unset DISPLAY variable DISPLAY=

e.g.:

ggusr@deb:~/Downloads$ DISPLAY= bash jill_of_the_jungle_the_complete_trilogy_gog_1_24778.sh

Just bought Silver on sale. It's hit by a weird bug, when opponents during combat get some transparent square pained on them which makes combat quite clunky. Is it a known issue and are there any workarounds?

it was definitely mentioned here in the forums when the linux version appeared on GOG. with a pointer to the steam forums where the bug was reported & acknowledges by the developers quite a while ago. There is no known workaround afaik.

//edit: some links

GOG adds a Linux version of the RPG 'Silver', still has a graphical glitch during combat

Steam forum: [Linux] Graphical glitches in combat

Thanks for the links! It's upsetting that developers said "Looking into it." more than year and a half ago, and then went dark completely.
Right...since a while back ,a handfull of the more 'retro' games in my collection after I reinstalled them through Galaxy ,or they recived an 'uppdate' ...crashes.. whenever a ingame cinematic runs.

anyone that got any clues ?
the point and case examples is Alpha centaurie that just reffuses to keep working after lunching a special prokect cinematic. it crashes regardless what the fuck I do ..abort it , esc it leet it play..game crash :/..with the repport 'terran exe ceased working' randomly being the exuse ..if the comp even says anything why the thing crashed.

or Empire Eearth one ..it can randomly reffuse to even bot up either with the words 'Terran exe ceased working' ..or nothing at all and that one also with the specific Quirk its booting the game intro cinematic ,but its a coin toss if it will transition properly from that into thegame menu ..or crash.

dont tell me G.o.g's going to become just as shity like steam or Origin so I have to start hunt fucking comunity 'moods' to make things run properly on windows 7 or 10 :/.

.exe? Is this in Wine (or derivate thereof) or is it in Windows. If the latter, you are in the wrong thread.

For game specific problems, try the games' own subforums. For Galaxy client related problems, try the Galaxy sticky thread.
well ,the game specific games sub forums dont give any info ,and they all worked fine before I tested to leet evryting be in the galaxy 'map'
infact ,the few installs that I only told it where to find and 'move' works like clockwork but all the reinstalled ones that could be called retro by any defenition got glitchy crashy :/.

huh..oh my ,why is this in the Linux trouble shooting!? ffs. argh.
