No need to "worry" about me being at a wrong spot... if this release is finally "going through" there will be countless of new updates GOG most likely is not getting. If it works the same such as the "last update" then GOG could become another rainy period for more than 9 months after.
If there is a critical game breaking bug, which is a high risk on this game as this game needs debugging almost non stop, then the GOG gamers may not be able to properly play this game... while the Steam users are doing "acrobatics".
However... every bit of support is like a oasis in the middle of a desert and if we at least get a new update once in a big while... we at least could say "it is not over yet", so there is hope.
In the end the game will stay listed, with the version number changed.
Sure, i can understand that those devs are not "to eager" providing GOG with updates because economically... they can only buy some breakfast (of course, many people would be glad having a breakfast) using GOGs money, for sure not a new car... but this unfortunate reality is kinda "to be expected" because if gamers see a "second class treatment" involving lack of updates and even no discounts, they usually "run away"... So we can say "self fulfilling prophecy".
Yes, the advantage of DRM free is unique but the sad truth it... those who dare can "circumvent the Steam DRM" (not even cracking or a crack needed) almost instantly, so... in the end even this advantage may not be unique to GOG.
