melcom: Hey o/

Is there a way to enable the GOG overlay for the new 'Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft'? That would be really great. Thanks for your work!

Greetings,
melcom

Although 'Overlay' is listed under the game features, unfortunately, it doesn't work.
Well, it works but not properly. For some reason every pop-up (Achievements, chat, screenshot) causes a black screen. Switching to classic graphics makes the pop-ups visible but this is of course no solution. Hopefully Aspyr will fix this.

Hustlefan: Here are the games where i've noticed this.
Can you look into Wolfenstein: The New Order? There's a report that it doesn't have overlay support. Sure enough, it's missing from the list of game features on the store page. That strikes me as weird for a game from 2014 with achievements.

I am installing it right now to see if it is working when forced. However the feature list seems to be correct if what has been reported in your link "add to that that the overlay option is greyed out," is true. The greyed out overlay confirms that it does not work officially - if it works when being forced remains to be seen. Btw: the release date has nothing to do with GOGs overlay working for a certain game or not. Unfortunately their overlay implementation is far from perfect and therefore simply produces issues in some cases ... the latest case being Tomb Raider I-III remastered which also has achievements and was released just a few days ago.

Edit: Even forced the overlay does not work and the game also only has one executable so chances are slim that Hustlefan will find a way to fix this ... but he is the professional when it comes to these fixes so he should have the final word in this :)

As Marko mentioned, the forced overlay is not working properly. (It gets injected but doesn't show anything) Even worse, trying to use the forced overlay will let the game crash after a while. Believe me, I tried everything to get it working in the past but the overlay just isn't compatible with Wolfenstein: The New Order. :(
Thank you both.

Since GOG/Aspyr have globally disabled the overlay for TR, you need to force enable it. Read here how you can do this.

The overlay doesn't work properly with the Tomb Raider remaster. It causes a black screen on every pop-up. If you use the graphics setting which is described in the Digital Foundry video here, you'll at least see the pop-ups but still have the black screen. Though it's working fine when switching to the original graphics. There you don't have that black screen and the pop-ups are also working.

RoboCop: Rogue City - fixed with the latest update
Hello, I am sorry for a kind of off-topic, but I can not find anywhere on the forums, how to solve the issue of Galaxy Overlay not running, while streaming games (I use Streamlabs OBS, but I found, that it does not work with other as well). Unfortunately no solution to this can be found anywhere.

I have turned on the Galaxy overlay in the Galaxy Setting, and I have also in config.json added line

"forceEnableOverlay": true

Unfortunately, this does not work either.

It worked long time ago, but the 2.0.37 update from March 2021 broke this function (changelog says, it should affect only Cyberpunk 2077, but it affects everything).

Is there any chance that you might know, how to solve this? Sometimes it works, when I run the game before Streamlabs, but on some games Alt+Tab and then starting Streamlabs will break my scene setup for recording, which works OK, when launching Streamlabs first and game second (of course with no overlay).

EDIT: after a little bit of testing, it seems that "forceEnableOverlay": true sometimes works. But looks like, it disabled my time tracking, as the Mechanicus game, with which I have tested it, still shows, that it was last run 6 months ago... *sighs*

Well, I don't have a solution for this issue but what you can try is to use the overlay from 2.0.35 which I've uploaded here.

Just hit Win+R and paste in the following path...

%PROGRAMDATA%\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists

Hit Enter and you should be at the place where the overlay folder is. Rename the present folder to something like "overlay2073" and then copy/paste the one from the zip. Restart Galaxy and see if this has any effect.

Hello, unfortunately, the older overlay does not work for me as well. But it looks like I was able to find the way where "forceEnableOverlay": true works 100% of the time, now. Unfortunately the time tracking still does not work, but after some testing, it looks like it is not connected to the overlay.

Once again, thanks a lot for your help.
