Hustlefan: Here is the fix:

Mortal Shell
• F11 is used by the game to toggle between full screen and windowed mode. With the overlay enabled, this created a giant green stripe on the left side of the screen. This persisted on the desktop, with the game closed.
• Shift is used to sprint and Tab to cycle lock-on, but both of these can be remapped.
• Shift+Tab does bring up the chat window, but it's very sluggish to show up (haven't tried actually using it).

I will also note that I first tried force-enabling the overlay globally, and that seemed not to do anything. I'll have to see if it's worth keeping it on or more issues will crop up.
Edit: I got the first achievement. The pop-up was sluggish and distorted (due to the slow animation), but it's better than nothing. I don't use the chat feature in-game, so it looks like I only need to worry about hitting F11 by accident. Thank you.

It's actually up to GOG to enable the overlay during the QA testing process prior to release. They may have encountered issues that aren't immediately apparent, or that don't show up on your system. Just based on the above, I wouldn't have released the game with the overlay enabled for all users.

But that is exactly what they've done! The overlay is enabled for all users but just not set up correctly. When the overlay is disabled, the option is greyed out in the configuration, which isn't the case for Mortal Shell.

I launched the game and the overlay works just fine. Haven't had the time to test more, but if I encounter any issue I'll report back.

Please make sure to exactly follow the instructions in the first post when you install it. Otherwise it won't work.
Please report if the fix is working, so I can add the game to the list.

In most cases the devs don't even know about the fact that the overlay isn't working.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected - No EOS overlay fix

This will launch the new Re-Elected version without installing Epic online services but working overlay. Just open the folder with your preferred language and install the fix as described in post 1.

Prison Architect - No Paradox launcher overlay fix

This will bypass the Paradox launcher and start Prison Architect directly from its executable with working overlay.

Hello!

According to the GOG store, it should be possible to use the Galaxy overlay for the game "Stardew Valley". However, I have found that it's not working for me. Is there any way to get the Galaxy overlay to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's very strange but seems to be an issue on your side. I just launched Stardew Valley three times in a row and the overlay works without problems.

Maybe another overlay prevents Galaxy from injecting it into Stardew Valley?!
