Hey, the Galaxy client have just tried to update itself. And the version ti install was 2.0.something. I have chosen to "update latter" as I never opted for the Galaxy 2.0 in the first place. And I seem to remember that 2.0 have some serious trouble running with Windows 7?
Is it safe to let it update my client? Or how to disable updates pernamently?
And how do I chceck the installed client version in the first place?

Don't know how to disable automatic updates but it works now on Win 7...

You can try the directions in Keep Galaxy v1.2 client and avoid the forced v2.0 BETA update. If you've already done that, then ask in that thread.

In GOG Galaxy 2.0, you can click the cog wheel in the top left to open the menu, then choose either Changelog and look at the latest entry, or Settings and look in the lower left corner of the window.
If it's not similar in the old version, you can open the installation folder, right-click the executable (e.g. GalaxyClient.exe) and choose Properties, then look at the Details tab for the File Version row.

This is a shot in the dark, but, have you considered just not using the client and using the offline installers? No unwanted auto-updates with them. :)
False alarm. Client updated today, at the startup, without asking, but it still looks like good old galaxy.
I start the client with the parameter "/runWithoutUpdating", since the update that broke compatibility with Win7 happened (but that thankfully was resolved).
However, with this method I don't even see if new (good) versions are available.

Can anyone tell me what's the changelog? (or if there's a thread about it, expecially for Win7)
Btw I wish that Gog just added a way for users to decide themselves about updates via UI. ¯\_(O_o)_/¯

how do I tell gog galaxy to update itself? It gave me a popup but I was in the middle of updating cyberpunk so I told it to update later but the popup never appeared again

2.0.46 Beta (February 16, 2022)
• Added to game views for all GOG games, a link to titles' specific forums on GOG
• Added information about new Cyberpunk 2077 Free DLC on game view
• Disabled option to generate "Share my stats" image

I will add that the forum link can be found under the "More" button in the top right corner, not among the text in the Overview category like I expected.

Just The "what did just update?" thread as far as I know.
There's a changelog support article but it's grossly out of date.

Mm.. both not great then.
That user thread has too many posts about game updates to notice Galaxy ones.
I am almost certain that I have read that last but one update, the one that caused so much of a problems, was supposed to add the button to check the current version of the Galaxy, to update it.
But were this button is supposed to be located? I have been searching for like 10 minuts. Where it is? It is like some pixel hunting adventure game?

Click the cogwheel in the top left, then choose Check for updates. This feature was added in version 2.0.48.
