Hey all! Unfortunately, the update will come at a later date. The silver lining here is that it may contain additional bug fixes. Our apologies for that inconvenience.

Hey everyone! The Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update was supposed to roll out tomorrow (25th April, 2024) on our platform. While we confirm that the update will of course be available on GOG, it will be slightly delayed.

The DRM-free version of Fallout 4 GOTY we offer on GOG does not include the Creation Club feature – that also means that the update itself will have everything in it, except for the Creation Club related content, hence the delay.

We're doing our best to have it ready as fast as possible and we hope to still release it this week (we'll keep you updated on the matter here). Stay tuned!

And of course, if you don't care about the update at all (because of your mods or any other reason) – remember that you can skip it by disabling auto-updates or using the Rollback Feature in GOG GALAXY.

With regard to offline installers, would you please add clarification as to whether or not there will be an option to choose between the next-generation update and the 'legacy' version?

So are we not getting the free content that was added to the game then? Just the undocumented bug fixes and higher resolutions and FPS changes which will only really matter to those on massive resolutions?

I wonder that too but given how the Bethesda announcement wording on the Update it seems like only Steam is getting the new content

I believe this is how it will look like. I'll come back with the definitive confirmation though

Really? I read it as the free content such as the Halloween items for example would be coming to all platforms including GOG much like we got Skyrim Anniversary, but king's post made it sound otherwise.

That is slightly disappointing, because Skyrim managed to get Creation Club content without the Creation Club itself.

"The Anniversary Upgrade includes entire pre-existing and new Creation Club content like quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells, and more. With Creations, there is a lot more to discover. You must own Skyrim Special Edition to access this content."

I'm not sure what else can that content have if CC stuff is not in it.

For me it seemed like do to how it was typed on Bethesda's site was how I said, because of this line ''Players with PC versions of Fallout 4 on Steam, Microsoft Store and GOG will receive stability, mods and bug fixes. For Japanese and Chinese language players on PC, Bethesda.net login issues have been resolved, fixing access to mods.'' then it mentions steam deck verified followed by the added content mentioned. plus I'm used to games on gog getting not the same treatment as Steam or Epic .. which Kings comment seems to all but confirm it to me that content will not be coming just the stuff mentioned in quotes

Download the files before the update lands, better safe than sorry :)

Agreed wonder why Skyrim got that but Fallout 4 doesn't get a similar treatment on the added content

That is just Bethesda's way of typing its always pretty muddy. Unless king says otherwise i'm just taking it that we are not getting the free CC stuff and there for there is no reason for me to download the update.
Alright... so, having purchased it yesterday, and with an unstable internet connection, it gives me a bit more time to download the "pre-update version" just in case it will not be longer available without GoG Galaxy.

As for those interested in the CC content, unfortunately i'm afraid the only way to get it here is to wait for a potential "Anniversary" upgrade of the game next year fueled by the success of the streaming serie...

Maybe just in time for Team FOLON and their hopefully successful tests for compatibility with Fallout: London then too.
I hope it will still include legacy installers.
