starkent: Quite a few of those paid mods you hate so much are made by quite a few respected mod authors. I very much would enjoy paying for their mods, especially if it helps them out making new free mods.
Don't believe I ever said I hated anything, that's your words, but Bethesda should call them what they are. Their persistence in calling them "Creations" is just pure manipulation. They know very well what it is they're selling, and they also know what a lot of people think of it, even modders themselves, hence their insistence on calling them something else. If you're happy with paying for your mods, go right ahead, no one's stopping you. I'm certainly not going to engage in a free vs. paid mods discussion here.
starkent: I sure would love to get all the latest fixes in the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch and Community Fixes Merged and Previs Repair Pack.
You wouldn't need a lot of those latest fixes if Bethesda just stopped breaking the game they released ten years ago.
starkent: So I feel the need to question why you don't want it when you can just downgrade through plenty of established downgrading methods or presumably use Galaxy's rollback feature.
I believe I already answered this question. My post isn't that long, so you should be able to find it. I can repost it for you here, if it eluded you, though:
Load times have become abyssmal, the game crashes frequently, and for many the game won't even start anymore.
Feel free to head on over to the other place and read some reviews and posts in their discussion forum from December and January, after the latest update was released. You don't have to take my word on it.
If you're perfectly fine with Bethesda breaking the game even more with each new, arguably unnecessary update, that's your prerogative. I, however, prefer my games in as least of a broken state as possible.
If you reread the end of my post, you'll also see that I'm not totally against them bringing the updated version here either, just that they keep the downloads separate from eachother. We shouldn't have to rely on third-party tools, or even a launcher, to be able to downgrade a game on GOG.
