bler144: I just checked and the 3 star review I posted for Nox 3-4 weeks ago never posted either. So I think I'm 0 for 2 on products I've bothered to stop and write a review for here. /shrug
Suppose I could make a ticket, but a lot of my comments are repeated in other reviews, and the system is recording that I gave it a star value. No way to tell if it's weighted into the overall star average, but also no reason to think it isn't.
FWIW, during the insomnia sale even a number of my forum posts didn't "take." Their comment/review system seems pretty unusual in that it launches a new pop-up browser window rather than just being embedded.
That said, maybe not as much as Steam, but even with negative reviews that post on popular games here on gog, they tend to get downvoted by the community even if they are factually accurate. Personally I care less that someone says they liked or didn't like a feature and that their opinion matches mine, and more that they bother to describe it in a useful way.
The Pillars of Eternity reviews are interesting because pretty universally all the reviews seem to have <50% "useful" ratings. Long, detailed 4 star review? 40%. Similarly detailed 2 star review? 30%. One sentence "Loved it!" review? 35%
This was mentioned in another thread by skeecher. Taken from an 'Act of War' review, "Had a really fun time beating it...".
