I gotta bitch about this. His movies are heavy social commentary and when I watch an Alien movie I don't want social commentary, I want adult monsters ripping people to shreds and baby monsters bursting out of chests.

Side note: I just got a word on Yahoo that the next G.I. Joe movie is rumored to have at least one member of MASK in it. :D

Well, it can't be much worse than Alien: Resurrection, Aliens vs. Predator, or Aliens vs. Predator 2: Requiem.
The concept art looks nice, but a lot can go wrong between now and release.
On the plus side, ignoring everything since Aliens is a good idea, and District 9 was excellent. Elysium was just okay.

I thought the first Alien vs Predator was OK. (And still surprisingly brutal for a PG-13 movie) What was wrong with that movie exactly?

Requiem was just disgusting

I recall enjoying District 9, and thought it looked good. I'll be hopeful, but since i don't watch TV or keep track of current events so much...

Again I thought that movie was OK. (The sequal was shit though)

And it was my first introduction to Alien (I have already seen Predator 1 long before)

I loved the 1st one. The 2nd one was too damn dark; you couldn't see anything! It's like they sat around and thought, "Here's a way to save on special effects, we'll film it without any lights!"

You know Aliens is full of social commentary on the Vietnam war, right?

And Alien 3 is full of social commentary about the justice system and the abolition of the death penalty?

And Alien Resurrection is full of social commentary about why you shouldn't root an alien?
