fortune_p_dawg: at the beginning when bastian is bemoaning the recent death of his mother he's dad is all "shut the fuck up kid, we got stuff to do, everyone dies so quit your bitching" but as he's telling bastian to quit being a loser he cracks two eggs into a blender, blends them, then drinks them out of a glass, or at least that's what it looked like. do people really just drink raw blended eggs? i used to do be into light body building and never once did i drink two raw eggs.

movie is fucking magical. the falcor music made me feel like i was 5 again. yay.
There are two kinds of childhood movies/shows for me now: The kind that survived the test of time and the kind that is best looked at through rose-colored glasses and not scrutinized too closely.

I'm afraid Neverending Story was the later for me. I saw it again as an adult and it sucked. Loved it as a kid though.

The music is great either way. Bought the soundtrack a year ago or so and I listen to it from time to time.

Never heard of them before, so I guess it's still a possibility.

Kajagoogoo was a rancid 80s new wave band. Their lead singer is the one who sings the Neverending Story theme song.

A fantastic movie! I love it and can't decide if "The Never Ending Story" or "The Dark Crystal" is better. A lot of great fantasy movies were made in the 80ies, like Ridley Scott's "Legend" with the devilish Tim Curry, "Labyrinth" with David Bowie(RIP) and the wonderful Jennifer Connelly, "Willow", "Dragonslayer", "Excalibur", "Conan the Barbarian", "The Last Unicorn", "Krull", etc... What a wonderful decade!

To me the depths of meaning that The Dark Crystal has (good+evil, light+dark, all being part of the same whole), as well as a complete lack of any cheese make it far superior. I consider Willow and Legend better than it too. Krull and Dragonslayer are fun but not good movies I think. Excalibur and Conan the Barbarian are GREAT. Of course The Princess Bride is great too. Must mention The Adventures of Baron Munchausen too! There's lots more more obscure movies too, check out Dreamchild!!!!

I remember being scared shitless when Atreyu had to walk through the Sphinxes. I probably had a couple of nightmares related to scary statues shooting rays out of their eyes.
