Saw it as a kid in the mid-80's because our school had some kind of movie-club on wednesday afternoons (in Belgium, we don't have lessons on this art of the week). The movie club took place in the gymnasium of the school on a large big screen (at least 20m large) and most of the school pupils were gathering and the school janitor was monitoring the film projector (yeah, it was true cinema, no vhs or dvd). Surely beats discovering it on TV..... ^o^

Yes. It helped a lot by providing a reference point in my write-up for the erotic browser game Trials in Tainted Space:

The Neverending Story is the first film I saw at the cinema. It was a grand start and might be why I'm a film entusiast. Golden memories.
