Just wanted to stop by & say yes, I am still salty about this. I still haven't received a response to my email to support asking for clarification that I had sent back in December. Guess they're still sorting through Cyperpunk 2077 hate mail?

I really never cared either way about Devotion being sold in any particular place, but the enthusiasm with which GOG dropped on all fours to lick China's dick really made me ill.
So I just found out from this post
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/list_of_drmfree_video_games_digital_distributors/post182

that Playism will very soon discontinue selling DRM-free on their own website :(
( https://blog.playism-games.com/termination-playismstore-membership-services/ )

That is rather distressful...

And btw, Detention is available there (the only place where it's currently DRM-free is Playism website) so some of you interested in getting it DRM-free should probably hurry :/
I'm kind of in a pickle personally since I wanted the game (I wanted a lot of games that are DRM-free only on Playism) but I am in a financial hell atm :(
I'm starting to think this will be a freebie on Epic sooner than gog getting its act together. xD

I don't think entity with major chinese-company stakes would do something like that

Tencent has minority stake in Epic. Also current free game on Epic is Wargame: Red Dragon, a game with an alternative history campaign where the player plays as UK and uses force to defend Hong Kong from being handed over to China.

Yeah, and the funny thing is: That giveaway isn't even blocked in China. There've been instances where the Chinese Epic storefront will give away a different game than the international storefront (this has been the case with every single giveaway that featured Ubi games), and I was VERY surprised that this isn't the case with Wargame: Red Dragon, despite having considerably more "problematic" content than something like Devotion.

Clearly, protecting their dear leader's pride against a malevolent Taiwanese game developer is a national priority ...

Epic? The same Epic that uses a spyware from Tencent to download games? Yeah, right.

Well this is sad, but something told me to save your whole post with me.
If you need it just for backup, just ask.

I was able to save part 1 and 2. (Don't know if you were able to write part 3, as you said in your first post.)
And it really saddens me. One of the deepest and kinder letter I've read as a message of love from a customer to a company.

Thank you for your words, sir.

no need, everything is in the https://www.gog.com/forum/general/boycotting_gog_2021 thread. It is only the duplicate spam posts in n-numbers of other threads that have been removed.
