Geddes17: So the first tier ($5) is the most interesting for avid bundle buyers since only one item ("Locke & Key") was already fully bundled before. The higher tiers contain more repeats but also enough "new" comics to be interesting. I think I will wait for the bonus additions (hopefully not further volumes of "Locke & Key") but I fear that will be another $25 gone ...
I guess you missed the Humble Image Comics Bundle 2: Image Firsts (January 2015), because The Fuse Vol 1 and Shutter Vol 1 were in it.

I agree with you, this is a great bundle for beginners. Not so great for bundle-addicts, but still a good deal.

I still have Groupees coins so, I'll use the big one and pay $10 for the whole thing. :)

EDIT: BTW, at the rate this is moving, I don't see many bonus happening..

I always forget about those coins. Looks like I have $50 or so. I have no idea how they work. I can just use them like cash to buy bundles?

Yep. In the page of the bundle select the last payment option below bitcoin.

You can see the coins, their values and select/deselect them for payment and if the coins are not enough then you can select another way to pay the remainder.

You have to use one or more full coins (no change back!)

You can't pay preoders with coins. Only live bundles.
^ Thanks mad! So, I guess I should just always use them first right? Or is there any potential bonus in collecting them?

^^^ And Geddes, don't forgot about The Rocketeer in tier 3, it's probably the best book in the whole bundle!
Oh now I do like this bundle - lots of repeats, but I missed most of those the first time around so for someone like myself its a great get!

They have incremented their value and, in theory, they might go up even more. I'd recommend to use at least some of them, unless you have tons of money available. :)
Amazon has a few Marvel Civil War titles for $2.99 today only:

<Still can't post links, find it in the Kindle Books/Comics and Graphic Novels section>
Happy Free Comic Book Day everyone!

Is it that good? Well, I'll try it sometime since tonight I decided to really buy the $25 tier - considering it's possible to trade or gift those comics I already own (I really wished Hunble Bundle and Storybundle would make that possible as well ...). And since I'm from Germany there are some games I can only play (uncensored) when gifted, so who knows? Those comic duplicates could come in handy sometime as bargaining material ... ;-)

Btw, concerning the bonuses: Considering there are four publishers involved who can advertise the bundle to their customers on various channels I do think the sales numbers will go up pretty much (probably after the weekend). But yeah, more than maybe the second bonus seems pretty far-fetched if they don't lower the goals (which happened before in some Dynamite Bundles).

I'm glad to see this thread becoming more lively after the lull it briefly experienced!

I can't help but feel the performance of Groupees' Bundle of Independents is evidence that the cynical way in which comics bundles have been curated is finally misfiring. Offering just enough new content in order to make the same audience part with their money once more can only work for so long. It's certainly a great bundle for newcomers but there clearly aren't many of those among Groupees' members.

In sad DRM-related news, I'm unable to buy Alan Moore's From Hell from comiXology... Because of my location, it won't show up when I search the store and if I follow a Google search result, I get a 'Oops! The content you were looking for is not currently available'. I could get it, DRM-free, directly from Top Shelf's webstore but I'd rather not spread my digital comics collection even further.

Honestly it seems that the comic companies don't put much into hteir online marketing. They seem to be relying on the bundle websites own marketing; which works on something big like Humble Bundle; but for Groupees tends to fail. Whilst their music and comics are generally good Groupee's games are really rather dire a lot of the time.

As a result it is indeed recycling to the same market a lot because they never have a big enough launch that enough noise is made in the community; nor a consistent number to keep their name afloat. Humble keeps getting attention because it has deals and launches that get everyone talking about it so they don't need to market as heavily so long as they keep getting the popular deals.

Groupess needs a huge marketing boost to get the name out to more potential markets. That is partly their responsibility; but I think comic publishers should also be doing their part.
If someone who is able to would kindly purchase Alan Moore's From Hell from comiXology as a gift for me (which I may or may not be able to redeem but am willing to roll the dice on), I'd pay you back by PayPal (or some other fitting method).

I'm somewhat baffled by why this is happening with this particular title, especially since it's supposedly offered DRM-free by comiXology itself.

Does the Amazon option work for you?
Plot thickeningly, the link you posted takes me to a Kindle & comiXology listing of the graphic novel which claims that 'This title is not currently available for purchase'. If I search Amazon, I'm able to find a Kindle-only offering available for purchase.

Weird. What I'd suggest is that you contact Amazon. In my experience Amazon support is good, and perhaps they'd be able to shed some light on this. It does look like the publisher of the two versions is different, and that likely explains why one is available to you and the other one isn't.
