As of the topic title - you can change forgot to "forgot" if you wish.

OK. There are a lot of games that should be on GOG and are not, but I will just stick to cult classic. Well, mostly... Maybe this topic will encourage some people to vote for them. Fell free to add your own titles.

Aliens versus Predator 2 (2001) - FPS, you can play as Alien, Predator or Marine, good single player (basically typical good old classic FPS but somewhat scripted unlike AvP 1)

American McGee's Alice (2000) - atmospheric action TPP on Quake engine

Battlezone II: Combat Commander (1999) - FPS, RTS hybrid, sci fi ,sequel to Battlezone

Black Dahlia (1998) - adventure game revolving around Black Dahlia Murder, 1930,s, Nazis, occult themes

Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners Of The Earth (2006) - FPS survival horror, great Lovecraftian atmosphere, has some problems but can be fixed with unofficial patch.

Chasm: The Rift (A.K.A. Chasm: The Shadow Zone) (1997) - not so much known a little late Quake type game but still got some following

Claw (aka Captain Claw) (1997) - cartoon platformer game

Crime Cities (2000) - sci fi cyber punk hover cars action game when you do missions buy guns, etc (got a lot rewards for graphics)

Curse of Monkey Island (1997) - well, it's Monkey Island 3 with graphics like from cartoon

Dark Colony (1998) - actually kind of generic RTS but atmospheric and with cool movies

Dark Earth (1997) - action adventure with great graphics for its time (no acceleration but looks like it has), good story unique world and atmosphere

Descent 1,2,3 - 360 degree 3D FPS, sci fi shooter

Dethkarz (1998) cool destruction car racing game in futuristic environment (has good speed feeling)

Drakan: Order of the Flame (1999) really good fantasy action TPP, inventory, weapons, items, you can fly Dragon

Freedom Fighters (2003) really fun to play action squad game (AI is OK), cool atmosphere and story

Freelancer (2003) cult classic open space combat and trading game played with mouse and keyboard

G-Police (1997) one of the first games that used 3D acceleration, sci fi Blade Runner inspired city, 3D shooter where you fly futuristic police helicopter

Hardwar (1998) open sci fi flight sim sandbox, trade, shoot, do missions, cult classic , 3D with 3D acceleration

Heart Of Darkness (1998) cult platformer video game, spiritual successor to Another World, but fun, good gameplay

Heavy Gear II (1999) - FPS mecha game

Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.2 (2000) - action TPP on Quake engine, based on animated series, chick with big tits kills staff using weapons

Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders (1994, expansion 1996) doom clone in fantasy setting, cool weapons, cool enemies, cool animations, cool music, good levels,

Hexen + Deathkings of the Dark Citadel (1995, expansion 1996) newer version of Heretic but this time you search for a lot of levers, more emphasize on exploration, you can play as fighter , cleric or mage

Hexen II + Portal of Praevus (1997, expansion 1998) this time on Quake engine, more inventory, typical mouse keyboard gameplay.

Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven (2002) gameplay similar to GTA, open city but really more story wise (not so exploration) awesome atmosphere on 1930's USA prohibition era, good story music, and gameplay

Mafia II (2010) - Mafia 2, set in 1940's - 1950's

Max Payne (2001) - story with great atmosphere, little psychedelic and dark. TPP can use slow motion, great gameplay, good weapons, graphics praised when came out

You have limited pool of them. They have names and skills, gather experience and go through campaign missions. You can train pre human hominids as soldiers. Interesting plot and cut scenes style.

PowerSlave (aka Exhumed) (1996) Build engine FPS, theme is ancient Egypt StarGate like. PC version has some problems. Would be cool to have a remake (if the make it) or at least original on GOG.

xordiw: Descent 1,2,3 - 360 degree 3D FPS, sci fi shooter
These actually were on GOG until not so long ago. I guess they were removed due to that new Descent game. I presume the developers acquired the license from Interplay but are for some reason not interested or able to keep selling the old ones on GOG.

Original War was also on GOG, I think it disappeared when Bohemia Interactive picked up their shit and left.

Anyway, most games I can think of are already on your list and most of them are in legal limbo. One I would add is Hunter Hunted an obscure and quirky run 'n' gun game by Dynamix / Sierra. And Woodruff and the Schnibble, kind of a successor to the Goblins series of adventure games.
I'm a little confused by the term "cult" here.

Several of those mentioned were big time games from big time devs that had big time advertising and pushes.

I guess it may be a language barrier thing. In Polish "kultowe" actually means that something's a classic, not a cult classic. It's the same in German, when something's "kultig", that's why it was so weird to me when I learned what a "cult classic" is in English.

Edit: Okay, just looked it up, my description for both languages is technically wrong (going by the definitions), but I'm pretty sure that that's still how these are popularly used. I mean, here's a list of "the biggest cult games" and it's actually a list of the most famous classic franchises.
Here a similar example in German.

I'm baffled that The Immortal and Powermonger aren't here, seeing as EA owns the rights to them and several other old EA games are here like Populus.

It means that after at least 10 years since release, there's a a single Youtuber still releasing videos of him playing the game moaning about how wonderful the game is and wondering why no one else is playing it any longer.

"Cult" does not mean "indie".

This was one of the first games released on GOG and was removed (alongside the ARMA games) when Bohemia decided to pursue a Steam-only relationship 3 years ago.

GOG didn't forget that game. It was taken off all markets due to expiration of the music licensing rights, and the publisher's decision to cheap out instead of renewing them.

I would argue that Mafia 1's gameplay is nothing like GTA; Mafia 1's gameplay - and story, and characters, and writing, and game world, and everything else - is vastly superior to GTA. Mafia 1 is designed for intelligent gamers; in contrast, GTA is designed to be as dumb as possible in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator. But I'm not saying that all people who play GTA are dumb; I'm just saying the GTA games themselves are dumb. Mafia 1 is like a hearty homemade meal made by a gourmet cook. GTA is like a McDonalds Happy Meal.

Sure you can argue, but the game is same type as GTA. It is obvious on the first look. The rest is a as I wrote - the game is more story wise. I also think it is better than GTA. Not so open but it has good story and overall atmosphere. Of course it is a matter of taste I suppose. It is like difference between Starcraft and Command & Conquer. They are different but same genre really.

what's the point in this thread?
Star Trek Armada 1&2, War Inc. When these come to GOG, I'll be happy.
