Time4Tea: Will it run ok with a GTX1050, 2GB RAM? Core i5 3330 CPU?

They're both a few years old, I know ...

teceem: Nobody knows what YOU consider "ok".
Me, I don't like playing games on anything lower than "High" graphics settings. And I mean "playing", not "buying". I don't replay games anytime soon so when I start one, I want the "full experience".
In the case of Control, I want to play it on high, 1440P, raytracing on, and a stable enough framerate. That sounds "ok" to me.
Fair enough. I'm not too fussy about graphics in general. As long as I can play it at a playable frame rate with settings that are not terrible, I'm usually ok. I'm more interested in gameplay, story, etc. and I would only be playing on a 1920x1080 monitor. One thing is that I like to have a decent view distance on games that are fairly 'open'.
Great addition.

Does anyone know the price?

GOG needs ignore system ASAP.

Game is huge SJW trash.

Gameplay-wise, boring recycled junk from Quantum Break.
Looks like it might also be reasonably priced. Base price on Steam is $40 with a current 20% off - curiously just the base game is still listed as $60 over on EGS and there seems to be no ultimate package either - so I expect something very similar when it pops up here. That's not shabby for the base game + expansions. I'm definitely going to grab me a GOG copy. :)

How so? Because it has a female protagonist that isn't wearing a bikini? ;-)

Your system is below the minimum requirements. It's not completely clear - the minimum GPUs have 3GB graphics memory... but I don't know if that aspect is important.
Maybe these benchmarks will give you some idea:

Ok thanks, I'll take a look at that. Maybe I'll try a slightly not-so-new game first and see how that runs. I guess there's also the 30-day refund policy, if it doesn't run very well.

Because the story is sexist and hateful towards white men. And main character is super-ugly woman with a square jaw.
Awesome!

GTX 1050 achieved 41 fps on average on 1080p res on low settings but with 16GB of RAM and 8700K clocked at 4.9GHz on their test machine. I doubt your CPU will be a problem since they tested i3-8100 but the lack of RAM surely will.

Might be best to investigate on your own more tests and results to see if it's worth it for ya or not.

Just curious: why do you want to play this game NOW? (vs. somewhere in the future when you have a newer system)
Aren't there many GREAT older games that you have yet to play?

Thanks for your reply. Although, I actually meant 2GB of VRAM, not system RAM (I have 8GB). Sorry, my bad. Anyway, seems like it might be playable on low settings.

Yeah, there are. Tbh, I'm probably not going to play it right now, but was just curious about how it would run. Besides, it'll probably be a couple of years before I'll be able to afford to upgrade my GPU.

I wouldn't worry with 8GB of RAM.

According to this performance overview, I'm starting to worry about how my 1080 will handle it...
