Timbroski: Guys I'm not being a fanboy when I say the 5700 XT is actually a decent performer and I'm excited about the Navi 2 lineup.

I know most people prefer Nvidia, but keep your minds open. AMD is really stepping up their game with graphics cards now that Ryzen is a huge success.
I'm not ignoring AMD, their next series of cards will be interesting as well. However I think they need a ray tracing and resolution upscaling solution that competes with nVidia's or else their market share isn't going anywhere.

Lodium: I dont think AmD Cards is bad
Have used both brands and both have their pros and cons
AMD cards tend to be a bit cheaper than Nvidia cards though
i was actually pretty happy when amd got out the new Ryzen processors
When only just one brand is taking over most of the market its usually bad for the consumers.
Same here. Have used both. Surprised with how nicely the 5700 XT performs at 1080p.

No worries. I know some people get in a rut, that's the only reason I wanted to use real experience to let you know they're starting to catch up.

Will the ray tracing be on par with Ampere? Hard to say. I think AMD is still a good 3-5 generations before overtaking Nvidia, if ever.

I needed a quick GPU upgrade because of a new monitor recently and I considered getting a 5700xt. It was honestly just me being familiar with nVidia's drivers and quirks that made me stick to them and get a 2070 instead. That's a hard hurdle for AMD to get over I think.
