Hey everyone,

Just a heads up to let you know that, unfortunately, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena will be leaving the GOG.com catalog as of 3pm UTC+1 today. We’re sad to see the title go but will do our best to hopefully bring it back at some point in the future!

Edit: It's Dark Athena, of course. Thanks for pointing it out!

Edit 2: If you own the game already, you'll still get to keep it, of course.

You mean Dark Athena, right? And will we still be able to download the game and bonuses afterward?
A bit silly the title. xD
It returning? eh. I don't usually expect it to happen.

Licensing. Licensing never changes.

@fables22 - The request that GOG received to remove the game from the store was from a scammer and can safely be ignored. They didn't even spell the name of the game right, which is usually the first clue that it is a scam. :)

All seriousness aside though... the Riddick games are pretty cool so it is sad to see another former win for DRM-free disappear from the store for any period of time. Hopefully it will be able to return before long.

Are there any other details you might be able to share with us, such as the publisher changing or something? No prying specifics needed, just publicly digestible highlights if possible. :)

I found Dark Athena and not Arena, and it's the only Riddick game, so probably so.

Generally, the game and its pieces remain available for those who have bought it. So, warnings like these are for a last minute purchase opportunity, but without too much fanfare.

If it never changed, the game wouldn't be leaving to begin with :p
edit: I tried and failed, I know.

Don't much like FPS's but this one looks interesting. Thanx.

Expectations are for the terminally disappointed.

Actually the game also contains Escape from Butcher Bay.
Thanks for the heads-up. Luckily I've bought it some time ago. Now if I would actually play it too... wouldn't that be wonderful?

It was actually a bit of a mishap and miscommunications between our own departments :) Apologies.

Just as long as it was nothing to do with today being March 09 (03/09) instead of September 03 (09/03), t.i. the contract ending six months sooner than expected because of misreading dates.

Just came to mind when I saw on today's News Release announcing an update to No Man's Sky and its game page stating "[08.03.2017] Now with the massive Path Finder Update!", obviously referring to March 08 (sort of today...) and certainly not intending August 03.

Year.Month.Day (2017.03.08) would probably be better...maybe... I mean that's how time works: hour.minute.second
