mechmouse: Under Origin the client quietly goes into offline mode and lets Sims3 keep playing, even online games will keep playing though the client is offline.

That alone makes Origin far superior to Steam.

nightcraw1er.488: Of course by that logic, if you brought the game here, everyone in the house could be playing it and the internet could be free to download some porn. Hence DRM/Client Free > Origin + Steam.
Yep, Definately GoG or DRM free is far better.
Plus gog would tweak and fix it. THIS is the most important, and COVETED, part...

Shadowflight: Yes, mine was there this morning :)

I only have one other game on origin, Kingdoms of Amalur, but in the end I replaced that with a Steam version + the DLC's from a bundle, so I never really think in terms of buying from Origin, but I was very impressed with my experience over this offer and my contact with their customer support, I will definately buy stuff there in future.

darthspudius: I think I have over 20 games from them all free at this point. No need to buy them lol.
I noticed the free game links and the "on the house" link, so I figure this is an ongoing thing, I will definately be checking the site more!

BTW thanks for posting about the offer in the OP :)

I think they do it every month with a different game?
I've got Dragon Age Origins, Theme Hospital, Red Alert 2 and a few others through it so far..

And really enjoying Red Alert 2 again :)
Although I need to get better at it again... not quite up to facing brutal enemies yet...

Well, I have DA on Steam and 360, so I guess I will get over that, glad to see you are enjoying RA again :)
