Fran is and, unless something serious happens, will be my prime choice now. If no one else supports this I'm open to go with Scene, maybe SPF if my vote is needed to secure a lynch on either of them. I'd add Koro to that list but I'd like to give him the newbie D1 pass for obvious reasons.

Sorry @all, day was more tiresome than I thought, and I wasn't able to resist the call of Morpheus earlier.

I'll go catch up from where I last was on, and, since the mod hasn't made it clear if the change of deadline is still a thing, I'll also cast a vote before going to bed (I have again a very early start tomorrow morning, and with the EU moving into DST tonight, I'm already an hour of sleep short).

I understand the health issues and their impact, and feel for you. But I can't help but wonder if that last line is indeed merely an innocent joke.
For the uninitiated, supplementscene pretended to be quoting his PM in game #53 where he rolled mafia for the first time.

You posted not long after the latest vote count, a vote count that had you as the leading wagon with 3 votes (amended since to the correct 2 votes).
Right after asking for confirmation regarding the deadline, comes the joke-line.
Which can be read as an attempt to steer attention away from you, subtly hidden in a joke that doesn't fail to ring the scum!supplementscene bell.

I've played with you in all but one game you were in since your return to forum mafia last summer. You've been town, mafia, third-party. In every one of them you didn't shy away from engaging others, nor only joke-posting. And as town, you may not be leading the game analysis/solving, and need a prod occasionally, but your posts have never been this void of content or disengaged as in this game.

This is going to be a longer wall of text, but I want to get everything out in one post, as I need to go to bed a.s.a.p.

I've been mulling over things during dinner, and am inclined to agree with Lifthrasil's and dedoporno's assessment of Fran67 after their appearance today. So, I'm going to

and see how the mod handles things.

I've got some D1 pings from almost everyone, but most warrant a "wait and watch" approach. The ones standing out a bit more I've mentioned in previous posts and this one earlier, stating or questioning what caught my attention.

My preferred one after Fran67 is SirPrimalform, because now that he showed up he's only re-enforced my impression of him. But with not knowing how long I'm going to be tied at the hospital, and if the deadline is unchanged or not, I may not make it for EoD, and switch my vote if needed.

supplementscene would normally also be on the table, and probably ahead of SirPrimalform, but I'm a bit reluctant to lynch him because he hasn't showed up for days now which is extremely atypical for him; one thing nobody can accuse him of is lurking as either alignment. I've started wondering if he's ok and if there's something going on in the physical world that's preventing him from participating (i.e. may need to sub out), and I'm not really comfortable lynching someone who's not present to defend themself. If that changes till EoD, and depending on what he's got to say, I'll re-evaluate my position.

Finally, while trentonlf may be on to something regarding the ZFR LAMIST thing (and Lifthrasil's right that trentonlf could be acting as mafia), I find ZFR's push for a supplementscene lynch interesting. He's given his reasons, but he's a smart and devious player, so can't help but wonder if that's actually genuine or not. Still undecided if it's enough to vote him, even if push came to shove.

Well I never feel like I have anything useful to say on day 1... even less so in this particular game because I haven't managed to keep up with the thread. Normally I'm a terrible lurker, I read but forget to post but at the moment I just haven't been keeping up.

You've maybe trimmed that quote a little too aggressively. As in, "today's posts seem to be mostly about voting mechanics". I'm sorry, I haven't yet gone back and read a lot of what I missed.

Micro's back on the lyst (lynch-list; I created a neologism hooray, hooray) after trent pointed out how he asked newbie questions that were already answered. Overall he feels like he's trying to appear more newbie than he is.

Also see my post 193. There is nothing wrong with going with gut feelings, especially on Day 1, but usually they are backed by something (e.g. by that player's previous games or by comparing them to other players he played against).

I cant help but compare him to muddysneakers last game. He was also a newbie there, but his posts and questions were more concrete. Micro on the other hand is all over the place which I think might be an indication of a scum trying to find the best way to survive D1. Of course people are different and I could be wrong, but nonetheless it's enough to keep him on my list.

Re dedo; I completely missed him in my post. He should be there with you, trent and Lift on the not-willing-to-lynch.

Not a change of heart, but I find Scene a more likely scum candidate now. Scene's last post was 3 Days ago according to the timestamp and he's only had 3 posts in the game. It's so far out of norm for his play and it doesn't feel right.

At this point I am willing to vote ZFR, Scene, SirP, or Fran. The bad part is the Fran wagon will give no real information because their lynch would be based on their lack of participation and not because of anything they've done or said. If Fran ends up being the lynch we better hope they are really scum or we will be in almost the same boat starting Day 2.

I'm not an active player in this game as I normally am. I'm also meant to be moderating a game on discord at the moment and I haven't been bothered to collate the sign up people in the last week. So I haven't spent much time on this game but I haven't spent any time on a game I'm supposed to moderate that GOG players want to play in and I feel very bad about that. Yes. It's out of norm, but as HSL pointed out, Scene is quite wordy as scum too. Something is different about Scene this time, but I'm not sure it's alignment-indicative in this case.

I would still prefer to lynch SPF. There is slightly more to analyze in his case and his MO feels off. Yes, he is never that active on Day 1, as he points out himself, but I still would expect more content from him. But maybe it really is his health and also it's already Sunday. We don't even know when exactly the deadline will strike. So I don't see my preferred lynch wagon going anywhere.

As for Fran, I do agree with dedo. After being prodded several times by players and by the mod, he appears and all he has to say is something about spelling? That's not even trying to play the game. That is either a newbie who is struggling with what to write (might be scum-indicative, as I said before) or it is him just not caring about playing the game. Both would be good reasons to remove him from it. Therefore:

I've not had anyone willing and able to sub in, and I'm interpreting Fran's post as an intention to stay in the game.

I encourage everybody to take the one-post-per-day rule as a worst-case-scenario. The game needs activity and engagement from all players to work.

VOTE TRENT Yes it's kind of an OMGUS vote on Trent. How many people have been on my wagon now, 4 or 5? Trent's voted for me because he says I don't talk much and it maybe because of my alignment. However Trent has played Mafia roles with me and played with me when I was SecretHitler. He knows I was verbous on both occasions. So does he genuinely think I would be quiet in a fascist role or is he looking for a good excuse? I mean I am usually the busiest poster so it is notable when I am not I suppose. It's also notable he's voted for me after several posters have said they'd vote for me, which is what Mafia tend to do, ie jump on an established wagon.

For me that's the biggest signs of a fascist, is jumping on an established wagon. I haven't had as much time to post but I wanted to see how wagons built for this reason before getting deep into analysis. I'm looking for insincere reasons for voting. Pooka was accused of jumping on an established wagon earlier and now Blotunga said he'd be happy to jump on my wagon based on me voting for him.

So Trent has given a reason and maybe it is sincere but maybe not.

Ahh am I that obvious? Or I could be wanting to have them remain in the game because inexperienced players that are easy for me to manipulate. Meanwhile I plot and plan to pick off the heavy hitters. How dastardly I am in my effort to appear altruistic.

In all seriousness I've got killed on Day 1 and Day 2 in my last 2 games and it ruins the experience but comes with the territory of the game. I wonder if some people play a version where dead souls can be talking ghosts or if that ruins the whole game balance.
