HypersomniacLive: First off, I'm not sure what to make of all the wondering and speculation about what a Psychoanalyst is and does (looking at SirPrimalform, PookaMustard and ZFR). The list of possible roles clearly says that it's an investigative role that finds out what modifiers (called qualifiers in that game) a player has.
The post with this list was linked to by Microfishd at the beginning of D2, and has been alluded and referred to a few times already.
Does anyone think that the list and/or the given definitions of them don't apply to our game, in spite the mod clearly stating so in the sign-up OP?
Why did you @SirPrimalform have to google to find info about it, and what forum posts did you find that offered no concrete info on it, but not the one linked to in the sign-up OP?
When I first started reading this I was thinking WTF, what list? And then I get to the crucial bit of info and realise that you're referring to something that isn't even in the game thread. I confess, I saw that Joe was running another game and rushed to sign up without reading the sign up OP as I knew whatever Joe was doing I'd want to be in it.
Here's the forum thread I saw which referenced Psychoanalysts: https://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1470584

ZFR: SPF: if the fakeclaim was agreed upon at night, he would have asked a question that scene had the answer to (note, it would be pretty funny if actually the fakeclaim *was* agreed up at night, and the "sleeping in houses" answer was what SPF coached scene to do because SPF didn't read the flavour properly either...). Anyway, even if the fakeclaim wasn't agreed upon at night, I'm not sure scum!SPF would immediately start questioning scene.
I suppose part of me want SPF to be town, because then him mentioning me being able to come up with the fakeclaim scheme would be a genuine compliment, rather than a calculated shade casting by scum!SPF.
What really raised my eyebrow though was SPF's vote on trent. And his claim it's not OMGUS. If not OMGUS, then what? A genuine belief that trent is scum?
Actually, in my theory scene's claim was deliberately bad in order to sacrifice himself and give someone (you?) town points for finding his 'mistakes'. I didn't claim my vote on Trent wasn't OMGUS, I said I hope it didn't come across as entirely OMGUS (i.e. I knew part of it was OMGUS but I did genuinely think he might be scum). Once I realised that his claim (if fake) would have been far too risky given Scene's flip I retracted my vote.
There is a lingering silence that lasts for more than a minute. The Saviours stare at one another in absolute stillness, but for a bead of sweat forming on a forehead and dripping slowly to hang off the end of a nose. Safiros' finger circles the Self-Destruct button.
A tumbleweed blows past the starboard window, which strikes you as an unusual sight in space.

And now?

ZFR: And now?
And now what?

How do I feel about Trent now? I still think his vote is cheap, but the probability of him being scum is low.

Who would I consider voting for now? Well I'm not overtly convinced they're scum but I'd have the fewest qualms about voting for Blotunga and maybe Pooka. Probably wouldn't vote for HSL, not especially townie but not much to make me think he's scum. I feel like Korotan is probably town and you and Trent are statistically likely to be town.

Yes, that's what I meant.

Me too. Saved us from going back and forth and making unnecessary posts.

Exactly! If we'd been wasting time doing that then we wouldn't be able to have this conversation, and then where would we be?
Ok, I just had time to catch up with HSL and the rest. I'm sorry I'm less active than I was in SH, but there I was overeager, and it didn't helped. Besides that real life also has a lot of things thrown at me, so I have very little time. Those who are my gogfriends (or on steam) will surely notice that I'm seldom online lately.

As for me not keeping my vote on scene, he just started explaining, I was curious where it would lead, and hoped that I could give some feedback in the morning after I woke up. He was hammered long before that. Anyway, what's done is done.

At this point I probably wouldn't vote ZFR, trent and HSL judging from the previous interactions. My primes would be likely Pooka, maybe SPF and less Korotan. Pooka for the idea of killing trent for sorting out the zfr-trent duo, though it has merits, I think if they are town (which I find likely), would just weaken us. SPF because he hasn't really contributed enough imho compared to his history/experience.

I had thought that SPF already checked that list and found nothing determinate, so I did the extra step and went to the mafia scum wiki to check it out and found nothing. If SPF didn't mention not finding anything, it's probable I would have checked the original roles list.

Now to where I stand at things...

HypersomniacLive: I'm squinting more at PookaMustard for additionally:

Seems like they're (over)playing the uninformed townie card with that conditional while prompting any Trackers/Watchers to come forward in order for us to nail the scum that killed Microfishd. And when the Tracker comes out, their follow up is post #812, which makes me squint even harder for all the reasons that ZFR and trentonlf already stated, while playing the newbie townie card regarding the idea of suppementscene's fake-claim (calling it a very obvious self-destruct after having said that the poor planning of it looks calculated).
avatar
ZFR: Pooka. Seems very fishy with the "testing" idea brought yesterday. And finishing it off with "biting the bullet" and "regretting it later". I agree with what HSL wrote about Pooka. Feels weird him asking for a Tracker to come forward, and when he did, asking for that tracker to be "tested".
The tracker did come out just like I asked, but my reaction to the whole situation isn't based off the fact that a tracker came out. It's the fact that of the people who came out, precisely two did, one directly after the other. My idea of testing was pointed at trent because of the idea that if he's Town, then his claim about ZFR "visiting himself" would have merit and also confirm ZFR to be the doctor.

Counterargument: but if ZFR was a doctor (and Town), then trent's claim of him visiting himself on N2 would stand true. In which case, testing either side of the argument could have brought the same result of confirming the other to be Town.

The whole argument crumbles when I realize that if a real doctor (probably present due to the lack of NK1) and tracker existed and ZFR/trent are not the real ones, they would come out and counterclaim. And unlike me who can't figure out the longer lasting effects of what you say in the game, these two know how to play as Town and Mafia; and the ways in which you can be ousted as scum.

ZFR: What's interesting moreover is the almost complete lack of interaction between scene and Pooka in Days 1-3. I think scene's relation to fellow scum would be either to overdo the distancing or... ignore, like Pooka.
To be honest:
D1 was the random voting stage. Scene didn't go overboard there and he was even late to the party. What's interesting is that he didn't vote Fran; Wagon of the Day. Not to mention that I was third on his early wagon which I have been suspected of taking opportunity of.
D2, scene laser-focused on blotunga's slip. Eventually he voted Lift.
D3's only scene interactions is his self-destruct, while claiming ZFR was scum.

Scene wasn't exactly focused on most of the players in the room. Even in the early days, Lift accused him of tunneling, which he also said was a small tell that he's playing as Town. Scene did turn up scum, so I wouldn't be surprised if he tried a different way of playing his cards simply to give everyone the illusion that he was Town this time. So rather than implicate everyone (as I heard he would do), he decided to go with this new way of dealing with the game.

Secret Hitler. A game similar to Mafia.
Captain Sapphire types "Access: Secret Files" into the console. The screen displays "Loading: Secret Files" which is promptly replaced by the flashing words "Secure! Password Required!"
Captain Sapphire pauses, concerned. He types "Captain Sapphire" into the field, which returns "Incorrect Password - a second false attempt will initiate self-destruct"
Sweating, Captain Sapphire surveys the area around the console. Close up of - multivitamins; a note to remind about a vaccination appointment; a photograph of a GP's surgery in Trondire City...
Captain Sapphire thinks gravely for a moment, looks to the beast, which has had a net thrown over it and is struggling to free itself, and turns back to the screen with resolve. He keys "The Supplement" into the console...
