HypersomniacLive: OK, quite some development and bastard modding elements.
First off, I'm not sure what to make of all the wondering and speculation about what a Psychoanalyst is and does (looking at SirPrimalform, PookaMustard and ZFR). The list of possible roles clearly says that it's an investigative role that finds out what modifiers (called qualifiers in that game) a player has.
The post with this list was linked to by Microfishd at the beginning of D2, and has been alluded and referred to a few times already.
Does anyone think that the list and/or the given definitions of them don't apply to our game, in spite the mod clearly stating so in the sign-up OP?
I had thought that SPF already checked that list and found nothing determinate, so I did the extra step and went to the mafia scum wiki to check it out and found nothing. If SPF didn't mention not finding anything, it's probable I would have checked the original roles list.
Now to where I stand at things...
HypersomniacLive: I'm squinting more at PookaMustard for additionally:
Seems like they're (over)playing the uninformed townie card with that conditional while prompting any Trackers/Watchers to come forward in order for us to nail the scum that killed Microfishd. And when the Tracker comes out, their follow up is post #812, which makes me squint even harder for all the reasons that ZFR and trentonlf already stated, while playing the newbie townie card regarding
the idea of suppementscene's fake-claim (calling it a
very obvious self-destruct after having said that the poor planning of it looks calculated).
ZFR: Pooka. Seems very fishy with the "testing" idea brought yesterday. And finishing it off with "biting the bullet" and "regretting it later". I agree with what HSL wrote about Pooka. Feels weird him asking for a Tracker to come forward, and when he did, asking for that tracker to be "tested".
The tracker did come out just like I asked, but my reaction to the whole situation
isn't based off the fact that a tracker came out. It's the fact that of the people who came out, precisely two did, one directly after the other. My idea of testing was pointed at trent because of the idea that if he's Town, then his claim about ZFR "visiting himself" would have merit and also confirm ZFR to be the doctor.
Counterargument: but if ZFR was a doctor (and Town), then trent's claim of him visiting himself on N2 would stand true. In which case, testing either side of the argument could have brought the same result of confirming the other to be Town.
The whole argument crumbles when I realize that if a real doctor (probably present due to the lack of NK1) and tracker existed and ZFR/trent are not the real ones, they would come out and counterclaim. And unlike me who can't figure out the longer lasting effects of what you say in the game, these two know how to play as Town and Mafia; and the ways in which you can be ousted as scum.
ZFR: What's interesting moreover is the almost complete lack of interaction between scene and Pooka in Days 1-3. I think scene's relation to fellow scum would be either to overdo the distancing or... ignore, like Pooka.
To be honest:
D1 was the random voting stage. Scene didn't go overboard there and he was even late to the party. What's interesting is that he didn't vote Fran; Wagon of the Day. Not to mention that I was third on his early wagon which I have been suspected of taking opportunity of.
D2, scene laser-focused on blotunga's slip. Eventually he voted Lift.
D3's only scene interactions is his self-destruct, while claiming ZFR was scum.
Scene wasn't exactly focused on most of the players in the room. Even in the early days, Lift accused him of tunneling, which he also said was a small tell that he's playing as Town. Scene did turn up scum, so I wouldn't be surprised if he tried a different way of playing his cards simply to give everyone the illusion that he was Town this time. So rather than implicate everyone (as I heard he would do), he decided to go with this new way of dealing with the game.
