antrad88: Shame they used pre-rendered backgrounds, because the maps are completely 3D, and they were very detailed for a 1999 game.

If this released in 2003/2004 with 3D rendering and free camera it would be a better experience.
Would be nice to port this game to some modern engine.

The developers Terminal Reality did make a brand new game engine they used for Ghostbusters games in 2009. I think they planned to license the engine to other companies and develop it further. Too bad they shut down.
Here are some pics from a Greek magazine. A Pretty good score.

I'll translate the last paragraphs (the epilogue) of the review :

The addiction that is offered by this game is beyond description. I'm sure that once you start playing (and once you get used to the controlling of the character), you won't be able to stop playing. You'd want to maim more monsters and shoot even more hot silver bullets on cold vampire bodies. Personally, i didn't expect that Nocturne, especially regarding addiction would surpass Resident Evil 2. But it did!
Having analysed all the parts of the game (meaning Graphics/Sound/Gameplay/Atmosphere/Plot), we can say that it's a splendid production, with depth in plot and interesting characters. If it didn't have extreme requirements (hardware-wise) and it didn't have a steep learning curve regarding controls it would deserve a rating over 90.

I don't know offhand at the moment....but hopefully the OP will. I will try pinging them in a bit(with a reply to see if they come to the thread).

Hey OP, if you're still lurking on GOG....do you know anything about the question just posted by the other user above this post of mine?

I checked with my existing installation, and at least that didn't have an option for different language subtitles. Merely, subtitles (English) are either enabled or disabled.

I am unsure if there ever was some localized Italian version of the game. At least I didn't find such with little googling.
Nocturne Reborn without the clunky player-movement in the original Nocturne would be great.

ya, the italian translation exist, i have it. But me too i can't find some sort of option for english speaks and italian subs.
The italian speaks is very very bad.

If i install the game with english option, in the directory of the game would be created the file "english.xxx". So, i think that file contains both speak and subs files inside.

If i install the game with italian option, in the directory would be created 2 language files "english.xxx" and "italian.xxx" but i think is impossible to apply any type of operation (for example, rename english in italian or something like that) that give me what i looking for.

Thanks anyway.

Extract italian subtitles from corresponding POD file to english game directory.

1 Install english and italian version, download POD extractor
2 Inside italian version find a POD file containing subtitles, it should be named something like ITL_DB.POD.
3 Extract subtitles from it using POD extractor. A WORLD folder will be created inside the game directory.
4 Copy that folder into the english version game directory.

hi ivan_tatamyans and thanks for your reply.

Can you give me a link where can i find this tool? i've found only one, but i don't understand how to launch the program. At the moment, i don't have Nocturne installed anyway, so maybe it depends from this?
