I have yet to see one of these threads not result in either "oops it was my other account" or "oops I did buy it from a Russian key seller." Not saying that's true for you, but this idea that GOG games randomly vanish is silly. If they did, no one would use the site. You said "it's annoying these things happen..." well, they don't happen, that's the point.

Only thing I can think of that legit happened was GOG refreshing the licenses due to an impending rerelease, as was mentioned above. I'd think that would effect everyone though, not just you.
But the games were purchased on my only account i have from GOG website.

As for your comment that they dont happen...Clearly they DO as it has happened to me.

Maybe if you add me as a friend you could see in my activity feed that what im stating is true.

I have an order in my Paypal for £11.58 for 30th Oct 2021, A Transaction ID, An Invoice ID, A GOG.com order No

And Seller information as follows..

GOG Sp. Z o.o.
http://gog.com
support@gog.com

Also a thread i made just over a day after purchase regarding playing the game..

https://www.gog.com/forum/metal_gear_series/mgs2_some_cutscenes_the_characters_seem_to_have_a_duplicate_image_almost_like_a_shadow

This game was purchased totally legit and onto my 1 and only GOG account

If anyone wants to add me and see my activity thats fine.

The comment was that games don't habitually vanish from user accounts without good cause, not that it's impossible for this to have happened to you.

I've seen someone who lost Cyberpunk 2077 because it was purchased through a reseller. This didn't erase the game activity on his profile page.

Anyway, you don't need to convince anyone on this forum of anything. If the refresh link didn't resolve the issue, then only GOG support can help.

I'd like to take this opportunity to urge everyone to always print every order as PDF, and to always archive every purchase confirmation e-mail.
Hi, Ok, i have just retrieved me Archived Emails and have found the actual Receipt from GOG for my order...

And it was purchased when i said to my 1 and only account, so this is an error on GOGs behalf.

And this shows that it does indeed happen to people.

Hopefully GOG will sort this soon for me,

Thanks for replies.

I have just sent a copy of my Receipt to GOG support through the email they sent me for my support ticket.

Hopefully this will be resolved, and whoever thought i was in the wrong or didnt know which account i use will now possibly accept this does happen for people in my position in the future.

alexandros050: You could try and send a message to a mod and have a look at it.

Here are some gog moderators

https://www.gog.com/u/ponczo_

https://www.gog.com/u/Clownski_ (This moderator is very active so he should reply soon)

Also tomorrow it is Sunday and I think they don't work so probably they will have a look on Monday...As long as you have the receipt you should be fine.
Please be aware that we can't do much in such cases via chat. This kind of problems should be reported via a ticket where we have access to all necessary tools.

We can do some stuff via chat, but it's always better to use the support form in case of any technical issues (and this one looks like a technical issue that has to be investigated with dedicated tools).
Yes definitely an issue on GOGs side as i have my receipt showing my purchase on said date which i have added to my support ticket, so i expect to get the two games back i paid GOG for asap.

Thankyou
Just wanted to give an update, GOG support have today messaged me, confirming it was an error on their behalf and have now added both games to my account again.

So things worked out ok in the end, Just a note for the future...

This shows it DOES happen and not everyone is making a mistake or bought dodgy keys and dont know what they are doing with accounts.
Glad you got it fixed, and sorry to hear that many were pointing to user error being the issue here.

I can also speak from experience that I've had several instances of DLC that disappeared from my account, and every time it's been GOG's fault.

Most recently I discovered my account was missing an Early Purchase free DLC for 'Ruined King', and at first the GOG support agent was denying that the DLC was a part of my Deluxe Edition that I owned, despite providing the order number and receipt. It wasn't until I linked to the actual 'Ruined King' website itself showing the advertised promotion window for the free DLC with GOG mentioned, along with posting screenshots of the DLC being in my game right now.

After support contacted their product team they finally admiited their error. Supposedly for "technical reasons" the early purchaser bundle was removed from the store. They say there was an auto redeem procedure started for all rightful owners of the DLC, but it seems like there was an issue with the redeem and that I did not receive the assigned DLC.

I'm sure there's numerous other buyers out there who also are victims of this issue and just don't know it. The only reason I discovered the issue was that I was updating my back up, and saw the missing DLC from my account that I know I had when I first bought the game.

Basically, you really have to watch GOG like a hawk when it comes to your account. I've had similar issues with Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, Trails of Cold Steel IV and a couple others. All games that had early purchase bonuses or DLC that was discovered missing from my account and confirmed by many others in forum threads.

I have faith in support to fix their errors, but the really issue is why are these things happening at the frequency that they do. It's also concerning that there's probably plenty of people out there who're missing content they paid for because they're not keeping as good of eye on their accounts and keeping their backups up to date as some of us.

Thank you for the update. I'm fairly sure GOG support didn't explain why this happened, so I won't ask.

Don't take offense. StingingVelvet was just referring to what we've observed on the forum. This is the first time I've seen a single account affected by the wrongful removal of games. I'm interested in any such reports I might've missed, if anyone wants to share.

Syberia: The World Before artbook pre-order bonus vanished from user libraries. This affected multiple people.
Arena and Daggerfall vanished from user libraries. This affected multiple people. While GOG never explained why this happened, we can surmise it had something to do with the games becoming free for everyone, whereas before they were free with the purchase of any Bethesda title.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - Soundtrack was added to user libraries with the note "missing OST redeem". It's not 100% clear what that's supposed to do, since no one on the forum reported missing the content in question; it seems to just fix the store not marking the content as owned.

Agreed. Probably have a folder called Game Receipts or something and move them to that folder.

Hmmm... I'll speculate that when they updated the forum to remove the downvoting, they may have slimmed down the database and ended up with unwanted results.

Still good to know you got your game(s) back.

Buffdaddy123: Purchased them from Gog website, paid with Paypal...

Were working fine for 9 months now gone..

Just found my order receipt on Paypal even though GOG have even removed the purchase from my GOG account history

Purchased end of October for £11.58 for the 2 games,

Also have a thread i created when first playing them on the MGS Board..

And nearly 20 Hours in my GOG Activity feed.
Paid with PayPal? Get the transaction ID(s) and hit GOG support. They'll get you straight.
Hey Paladin181, it has been rectified, Gog support today emailed me and said it was an error their side, and have added the 2 games back now to my account (and they are back in my purchase history now) which they had also disappeared from.

Ice_Mage.. I havent taken offence with it, but i did feel that the comment was very pro GOG and i knew for sure my games were legit, At least if this happens to anyone else they can feel confident in bringing it to the forums..

This shows it can happen to anyone, and hopefully people will be a little broader minded now.
This really stinks. I'd like to know what caused the removal. I'm not logging in to check my inventory each day. I keep my receipts just in case, but I probably would never know unless it was a widespread issue that was brought to the forum. In that case, I'm sure GOG would restore those accounts of their missing games, with many unaware it happened. This particular instance gives me that nagging worry. I haven't backed up anything new in over 6 months. Best get to it then! Thanks OP!

I saw that later. Glad you got it resolved.

I keep a local list of my library and wishlisted items. If you've already amassed a sizeable collection, I believe Playnite can export your library to a list.

On the site, just hover over your name at the top to see your library total. In GOG Galaxy, see Owned Games in the sidebar (or if you own games on other platforms, I guess first filter for Platform:GOG.com then save the bookmark), but note this doesn't include non-games like The Witcher Goodies Collection or Cyberpunk 2077 Goodies Collection. Then compare the two totals every now and again.
