EDIT: Somehow the quote went wrong.

I bought them from a keyselling site. Not directly from steam or gog. If posting the site is against rules pls delete it. G2A is the stores name. I never had trouble with them.

They deal in stolen keys. GOG's been wiping out purchases of Witcher 3 that were illegally purchased from there, and Ubisoft has revoked games from people who've bought keys for Far Cry 4 from there.

Problem is, while you're saving money, other people are getting ripped off.

Maybe - Maybe not - Guess its not my task to figure it out - It seems legit - I never had any problems - If its really that bad i cant imagine they are running this site for so long and with so huge salenumbers.

Anyway i trust them and i am happy for the discounts.

I always love reading "I never had any problems, so I suppose it's legit" :). Already heard this a lot in the past with Apple Care sellers on eBay for ridiculously low prices. Sometimes folks even goes on like, "the first two serials they sent me were not accepted by Apple, but I almost instantly got new ones until the third worked, so it's not only an obviously legit seller, but also great customer service".

If the site deals with non-legit keys, then downloading from torrents or usenet gives even bigger discounts, and it's just every bit as legit. I would actually prefer it if folks would just do that, this way criminals get no money and people don't steal bandwidth from GOG by downloading the games from here.

I just get my games from GOG or if not then Steam, that way you cannot go far wrong, and you know the devs are getting payed. If you don't want to get games at full price then wait for a sale, I've saved a fortune during this summer sale alone on GOG.

Of course im buying games directly also. And the summersale is pretty nice indeed. Have many games on my wishlist. Ready to grab them when they are on sale. Building up my gog library. Far more pleased with gog as im with steam (200+games in my library). Only heard recently of this site. And its very good so far.

The question is whether the keys are "pirated", bought from the cheapest regions and then resold worldwide, or bought on the heaviest discounts available anywhere and then resold.
If the first case, actually selling that instead of just making it freely available absolutely needs to be stamped out. In the second, serves publishers/developers/distributors right for doing this regional pricing crap. In the third, sounds perfectly legit to me.
But as long as it's not clear which one it is, I'd be wary.
Better day for my library than yesterday, worst for the wallet. Got Space Rangers HD: A war Apart and the games I did not have from the World War Pack bundle. I'm now almost half way to getting Xenonauts for free. The 2 others are unlocked but I already have them so they'll be starring or at least figuring in a future G.A.

Grargar: Really? What are you going to download next? Hatoful Boyfriend?
avatar
CarrionCrow: Already did that. That was just as bad. Might've been a full spirit breaker if I hadn't pushed through and gone on to download better things immediately after.
Well, the sequel is confirmed for PC...

Sounds like me a couple rounds earlier. Stocked up, but my budget got nailed in the process.
