Hey all! A quick update before the weekend: we couldn't push the permanent fix just yet, and need some additional time to do that. Please bear with us a little longer!

Thanks for the update, hope is fixed soon!
Hmm, any way to roll back to the version that was published before the update 3 days ago? I know it had issues but I had manually updated addins and offers and everything seemed to be working fine, since the update I can't even load any of my save games.

EDIT: OK, the exe given in the steamcommunity link in the '1.05 Patch disaster' thread appears to have solved my issue for the moment.

Is anyone else troubled by the fact that king_kunat seems to be completely ignoring the core affinity issue? He didn't mention it in the OP or in either of his replies in this thread. The game's recommended specs back in 2009 listed a four-core processor, so why the bleeping bleep did GOG limit it to two? From the other thread I was just reading, it seems that even for people that this didn't break the game completely, it did slow the framerate, and for no reason.

The old saying seems to apply here: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I imagine it's because for the longest time, it was recommended to run DAO on a single core to prevent crashes. Right or wrong, they could see it being a stability issue, and that's why they're limiting the cores.

DA Origins was released in 2009 and in those days people already had processors with 2 or even 4 cores, for this game 1 core is not enough, or maybe is OK if you play 30 fps.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just what we used to be told on any number of modding sites that had guides for getting the game running well, to only use one core. I used to do exactly that too, and it didn't crash as much, but that could just be confirmation bias.
I suspect the main cause of the crashes and instability is the game's infamous memory leak. Applying the LAA patch was enough to fix the problem for me.
I played the human noble origin with maybe 40 mods installed, the game did not freeze at all of points it used to freeze, made it all the way to Ostragar. Then I installed more mods and then came the freezes, graphic bugs, black screens while dialog was audible. Went back to less mods and everything is okay. To get all of the mods to work I have to launch the game from Vortex. I don't know what the purpose of the 2 separate launch icons is, they both link to the exact same executable.

I haven't installed the LAA patch, I think that perhaps the game executable may have been pre-patched.

In perfect timing for Dragon Age Day, too!
Latest patch fixed my save files crashing, also now Stone Prisoner (Shale's recruitment quest), Return to Ostagar and Warden's Keep showed up on my save as well. Before this patch I wasn't able to access those three DLCs. Great job GOG team and thank you.

Pls remove this foolish core affinity reduce to one. This game will be created for multicore CPU and don't work properly with this limitation.

So the last patch still has the core limitation? Are you thinking to fix the core afinitty?
