Why is the Linux version left out?

Hey guys, I bought this game years ago and it worked perfectly on linux. So why did you decided to exclude linux version? Sometimes I don't understand GOG's politics
Came here to ask the same thing. Would like the Linux version as well.
Nice to see I’m not alone on this ;)
Here is a wishlist entry for us:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/bastion_gnulinux_version

I for one am waiting for the Linux version before buying Bastion from GOG, meanwhile I’ll stay with my Humble Bundle one (DRM-free, they don’t sell it anymore sadly).

I linked this thread in the wishlist commentaries.

Voted on the wish list. I've got it on humble bundle, but would buy it again from GoG if they added Linux support.

Yeah was excited to see this released on GOG.COM but sadly the Linux version is missing, would have snapped it up straight away if it did have the Linux version!

if it does appear then i'll buy it but until then i'll hold off.
Yeah, this game is one of the better ports out there :)
Here is the response for the MK Trilogy. :(

Very sad, although it;'s fairly easy to port any dos game over to run via DOSBox anyway so not that much of an issue.
(which is what I plan to do for MK 1 2 & 3)

The sad issue is they can't say anything / tell the community exactly why, so i assume a legal issue or some shady & poor business practice from whomever is involved

May just have to get Bastion on Steam instead, even though I'd rather my money goes to gog.com.
I was really hoping to get this over the weekend, but, to my surprise, the Linux version isn't on here. How sad. I still have hope that GOG will get it eventually. I just wish all platforms were treated equally, and that's coming from someone using a FreeBSD machine, PC-BSD to be specific.

Hopefully it's something simple like WB was too stupid to realize GOG sells Linux games now. Guess we will have to wait & see.

maybe the source of the troubles is that you think it's GOG and their policies that have kept the linux version from showing up and not WB games or Super giant not giving GOG the Linux version.. Keep in mind GOG has 0 control over what versions they have the rights to sell that is entirely up to the rights holders so if WB didn't give GOG the rights or a copy to the Linux version they can't make it available.

While that is indeed true, it would be nice if GoG gave us an official statement on the subject; if WB have said to GoG they can't sell the Linux version that is fine (upsetting, but a decision on the part of the publisher), currently GoG haven't said anything about it and therefore we don't know what the reason is. Telling us we can't have something is perfectly acceptable as long as they tell us the reason (then we can make our own minds up as to whether that is a fair decision or not)

EDIT: Even saying we are not allowed to tell you the reason is better than just staying quiet about it.

I agree that would be nice but realistically speaking it's rare for a company to make any comment on such matters let alone a simple "we can't say anything" so expecting GOG to be somehow different in that regard is just wishful thinking, sure they often tell us more then most places but the fact is even a "no comment" stirs the rumor mill and raises even more questions from the peanut gallery and yes saying nothing at all does the same, it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation and as I said in business it's far better to be damned for not saying anything then it is to be damned for saying something even a "no comment"

As for GOG saying "Hey we would like to give you the Linux version but WB won't allow it" what do you think will happen then? People will get up in arms and complain and WB's rep is tarnished even more and GOG looks bad because it was them who said something about the matter.

I have ubuntu 14.04 and I just checked out the ubuntu software center. Bastion is in there for people to purchase and download. It looks a bit pricey compared to other places that sell it, but it is there and it is a linux version.
