Encountered same bug as described above in Windows 10 (seems to be common from Windows 8 to 10). I was able to make it work by running it inside a virtual XP machine. You can get an XP VM directly from Microsoft (there are several tutorials how to make the Windows 7 XP Mode VM run in Virtual Box, just search). Inside the VM it works like a charm so far.
So to play this game we need to do all that, instead of getting a patch to fix it?
Shouldn't it be possible to "install" an older OpenGL version just like older Dx versions are installed for older games?
Or is it that the older OpenGL version is incompatible with Win 8 and forward?
Usually if an old game comes without the correct Dx version, you'll download it from somewere and put the .dll in the game directory or in the System directory or something.

The Menus are totally disfunctional, game is unplayable for me on Windows 10. I have tried over a dozen of recommended fixes, but nothing works and I am giving up on this rip-off.
Win10 - no luck at all ...

Both the GOG and the Steam version of alone4.exe are
984 KB (1.007.616 Bytes)

Both the GOG and the Steam version of launch.exe are
1,74 MB (1.826.816 Bytes)

With GOG, the game starts, but is totally unplayable (only black resp. blue / white).

With steam, the screen is a few moments dark, then the desktop is back again.

Then I copied the glew32.dll in both the GOG and the Steam directory: No change whatsoever.

Compat / admin mode did not change anything, either.
Update:
Working fine in a virtual Windows XP machine.
I just have tested this method, it works fine.

Finally it has been solved! Now you can play
this game on Windows 8.1 and 10 without any issues. Thanks to Sage we found that using the Spanish version exe from GOG seems to fix all opengl and visual issues.

Please replace Alone4.exe with the new one in this Dropbox. Then you will see multiple language files, rename this entire file (depending on your language) from filename.cok to locale (make sure it isnt .cok anymore just blank) and replace it with the one in the game's directory. (Just search the games dir to find it's place).

Now boot the game and you are good.
