Highmen, Day 3

Why wouldn't they listen? I took my time with each of them, going slowly from pyre to pyre, giving them the chance to repent and promise to change their ways. But they would not listen. No, they screamed their obscenities at me, their curses and promises of revenge.

I gave them to the light and soon their screams changed. They no longer screamed obscenities or curses as the light spread through their bodies. The screams became pure and strong, cleansed from evil wishes. Just as their souls.

Elves day 3

the highman village we included into our empire has been great help with healing our sick and showing us light when there is darkness. yet we still go with our ways just seeking a new home. we explore these deep caverns a little more as we wait for the goblins to leave and our new town to be build

Turn Sent
Day 3, Azracs
It is fortunate the mahouts are as skilled as they are. Who else but Uthman's servants could induce the beasts to obey even in these dark and squalid caverns?

We took one mine, and look to repair another. We are also renovating another abandoned settlement, whose stoneworks are still serviceable with a bit of work put into them. Perhaps this place doesn't entirely deserve its reputation.

The mine we set about repairing was more than half submerged in the subterranean waters. In fact, we had to use our transport ship to get the mason where they needed to be.

(OOC: It is possible to replace the land with water underneath a ruined mine or mana node in the editor, without deleting that structure. I have done this by accident in the case of that mine. I just tested in SP, and it seems the only problem with the mine, even repaired, is that it has no graphics other than the ownership flag. I don't think it will crash the game. Sadly, this trick is not possible with any other structures, so we cannot have truly aquatic cities where only swimmers fight, which lizardmen will be sad to hear.)

Just as well. Those scaly bleeps are annoying enough already.

Also, I'm mildly irked that you chose to name the game in a fashion that plops it right at the bottom of the save game list. Don't make me scroll, man! ;)

Pressing the Date heading in the load game list box orders them newest first, although it's still extra work.
Day 3, Name That Shall Not Be Said

We just walk today, while wondering what the map maker had in mind with some of these placements.

Undead, Day 3

So much time is needed to rebuild these ruins. Each step is one part closer to sharing the true awakening of undeath.

Highmen, Day 4

The remains of the dark elves are buried. Now we clear away the rubble and clutter these wretches dwellt in. I will personally sanctify the grounds and wells of the village before I turn my view north on the second dark elf village my scouts reported to me.

hey guys heading to my basketball game, ill play my turn in like5 hours max
Day 4 of the elves

we continue to shelter those who offer any support to establishing these lands as one of our own. we are resting after a tiredsome battle when one of our scouts send a bird-mail. "my lord i send you this from the high seas. we have encoutered a darkelf vessel and have made precautions, requesting advice"

with this shocking news finding out we are not alone i gather my council to discuss this matter.

war general: "sir we must strike first else we be killed and driven out like last time.

Merchant: "i say we attempt friendly contact to see if i can find some of those rare artifacts people are always fussing about"

towns mayor: "sir our people have fled from wars to find a new home, we must not fight our brotheren for all we know they are fleeing other wars themselves".

after much discussion that went on for hours our lord and savior of this small band of elves spoke.

"HUSH HUSH, this is a time to rejoice, we have found our family. we will send diplomat out at once, general focus on securing our home before making foolish accusations" general: "yes my lord"

lord: "merchant we need some ties to distant lands to feed our family" merchant: "at once me lord"

lord: "and mayor keep our people happy as happy people make productive people" mayor: "at once i shall"

with these task assigned elves productivity have been sky high. only time will tell if our brother the dark elves will accept peace.

Uthman of the Azracs, Day 4

There is a trick forbidden by the palace wizards; a use of Air magic which they consider tainted by its association with the Storm Cult, whose agents once so disastrously stole the Horn of the Dead from our vaults. None of those censorious old prunes are here to see me now, and so I rode with a small band of men to take on stronger forces of Dwarves and Azracs today, and tore into the enemy ranks with bouncing bolts of lightning. It was powerful, but not as effective as I expected, and two of the sturdy dwarves surprised me when they kept fighting even as it seared their skin. They nearly gutted me, and though my wounds will heal, I have changed my horse for a bier for the time being.

My men praise my bravery, but I am sure they curse my foolishness behind my back, where it is not a breach of discipline. I may have fallen out of favour at the Palace, but not explicitly. If I were slain, I would be given a full royal funeral, at which my enemies would profess their despair at my untimely demise. My men would be blamed for my death, and their punishment would be enslavement; more likely, they would choose to hide in these parts and become just another filthy band of troglodyte renegades.

Tongue Twister of the Dark Elves, Day 4

I spotted a water node yesterday, and I set to researching the summoning of some small amphibian that could go claim it for me.

Today, the amphibian, perhaps I shall call it a 'frog', more closely examined my would-be acquisition, and I discovered the water node, situated in a tiny little alcove with naught but another little lake next to it, was guarded by a water elemental. Because of course it was. I had expected perhaps some underwater lurking beast, but no, it was guarded by something resistant to physical damage.

I roundly cursed the elemental and whatever asinine god that caused it to be there, and then I turned around and walked away. I'm not sure I'll ever get around to claiming it, considering how many frogs I'd have to create to have a reasonable chance of success. Just not worth the bother.

Undead, Day 4

A missionary priest of our cause met with the council of a goblin settlement. An elder of the settlement staked the terms for allegiance as: "A coin for canon fodder". An attending failed apprentice, chained to an incendiary device, lowered his gaze in a silent, shamed recoil. After the land is won and the time is ripe, I will liberate these self-doubting servants from the unclean woes of mortal coil. In my first life as a member of Highmen nobility, I remember the thirst of wanting something that seemed capriciously intangible and unformed in my mind, like a fleeting dream. It was only after my rebirth that I could see with perfect clarity, unburdened by the throes of life's blood.

Highmen, Day 5

Another day, another cleansed village. Personally I lead the attack on the village, even though outnumbered and outarmed our resolve was strong and our cause just. Some of the high council may have thought it wise to finish the cleansing of the first village and attacking the next one with full force. But one look at my men gave me all the resolve I needed and now we are already changing the lives of these wretches to the better. One by one their bodies and souls will be cleansed until this village is a place of light and serenity.

Did the game get hung up? I noticed Asto asking about Linux Mint solutions for the email wrapper on heavengames.
