A great prelude to Worms Armageddon and World Party However, as it doesn't have online multiplayer or even LAN it's not worth it at the time. My advice: Better wait a while for GoG to release the other two. They offer a better, fuller experience (my personal favorite is Armageddon) and perhaps they will support multiplayer.

This good old game unfortunately has some issues on modern systems. Right out of the box the game comes in a very low resolution (640x480) with no reasonable way to change it AND, worst of all, it is also pretty laggy down to the point it is unplayable (even though no PC from this generation should have any problems with it). If you want to actually play this game, you will probably need to do some tweaking. What helped me on Win 8.1 was the "ReSolution" module WITH windowed mode (non-windowed was laggy for me) available on "https://worms2d.info/ReSolution". If that does not help, there might be some other possibilities including the GOG refund policy. Also, considering getting Armageddon or World Party instead of this one shall be recommended.

Sadly all of those reviews from 2012 and a like are true. Game has compatibility issues, for 2022. It doesn't work on Windows 10 out of the box. As a result, I am refunding it.

It's working on my computer, but only by frontend.exe file. It's not working by shortcut, worms2.exe, start.exe! It's working on my Windows XP, 10 and Linux Mint 20 (Wine).

Unfortunately, it doesn't work under Windows 8.1. White screen appears and PC freezes, only reset button helps. To play it I had to create a virtual machine with Windows XP under Virtualbox. However, Worms 2 is a great and beautifully made classic game.
