Worms 2

This game brings back so many memories. It’s been 20 years since I last roped, I’m rusty but so much nostalgia. Unfortunately the servers are no longer active was hoping to see some old clan mates :) install works didn’t have any issues like others did.. no crashing or errors. I did get a runtime error when trying to start a game but that was a thing 20 years ago, you have to remember to install it without any spaces in the name ‘Worms2’ no spaces. I even installed this using crossover app on the Mac so not even in windows and it runs flawlessly.

Okay, so worms 2 is a fantastic game on its own right. The 1 out of 5 star rating is for the gog version. Unlike armaggedon and world party remastered on steam, this is not a remastered or updated version, this is the original version ment for windows 95/98. So if you own a modern version of windows (Vista - 10) DO NOT BUY!!!!. If you have xp/200/95/98 you should be okay with this....I bought this today out of nostalgia and assumed it would work on my powerful windows 10 pc. It dosen't, plays the cgi cutscene at the start and crashes. Buy armaggedon remastered on steam or wwp remastered instead.

Best Worms game and runs like a charm with patch (Worms 2 Plus) on Windiows 10.

I can't make it work on Windows 10.

After many years during which I could not find a decent way to play this game without severe compatibility issues, I finally managed to do so by using the tool recommended by the user "Twilight" below (in his comment from March 2021). After installing said tool, I was able to run the game without any technical problems. The in-game experience is almost identical to what it was 22 years ago (well, everything loads much faster now). I have successfully played both quick matches as well as custom games (including the campaign). However, the online mode doesn't appear to be working (which was to be expected), so you are stuck with local multiplayer if you want to play with your friends. Note: Any match defaults to a very zoomed out view (as in, you get to see the entire map at once and the worms are very small). This can be altered at any time by zooming in and out with the mouse scroll. I am not sure whether this feature existed originally (I never tried to zoom in and out when playing on the small old CRT screens), but it is very nice to have it these days. The game itself is, obviously, a more bare-bones version of Armageddon/World Party (less weapons, less customization etc.), but otherwise it plays just the same. I, for one, prefer this version due to its simplicity, but also thanks to its very cool soundtrack. In any case, if you've purchased this, you probably already know what to expect in this respect.
