Story game with nice interactiveness
This game belongs to what many disparagingly call the walking simulator genre; but if done right like this one, these games can be transcendent experience. You play a pregnant woman revisiting her old home and reminiscing about her past family tragedies. Every flashback sequence is played out with nice interactive flair, including a memorable one set inside a graphic novel. There are light puzzles that punctuate certain key moments. Gone Home may have jump-started the interactive fiction genre, but this game is miles better.

Not really worth it....
Remains of Edith.. it's ok. The sardine factory scene was great and just had a great vibe to it. The bathwater scene also was pretty good... but I regret buying it otherwise. Yeah I was hoping for some "feels" but regret is one I'd like to avoid after a purchase. The game feels clunky at times where (at least to me) where I felt I had to backtrack or had missed something (mostly true in the last half).. I also found the tone of the game confusing where I infer that things will be "serious" but then it's not. The whole thing just lacked cohesiveness at points which ruined things for me. Overall.. Not satisfied by the experience.

Digging in the dirt
I'm not all the nosy in real life, but I love digging through the lives in this exploration story thingy. It made me want to go back there later.

Don't call it a walking simulator
What Remains of Edith Finch is often compared to "walking simulators" and visual novels but I think that's doing the game a disservice. The game has an interesting story but it is how player interaction and exploration are used that raise it above the average game in terms of storytelling. Mind you it's not a happy story but it's not a straight forward sad story either that goes for cheap drama
