Discover the grim dark universes of Warhammer where there is only war. From Warhammer 40,000 to Warhammer Fantasy and more - discover it all on GOG Warhammer Franchise page.

Take control of one of the most technologically advanced armies in the Imperium - The Adeptus Mechanicus. As Magos Dominus Faustinius, you’ll lead the expedition on the newly rediscovered Necron planet of Silva Tenebris. Customize your team, manage resources, discover long-forgotten tech, and control your Tech-Priests’ every move.

Your every decision will shape the missions ahead and ultimately decide the fate of the troops under your command in over 50 hand-crafted missions. Choose your path carefully - the Imperium depends on it.

Augment

Flesh is weak! Upgrade your Tech-Priests with weapons, support items, Servo-Skulls and other mechanical augments as you assemble your cohort. Customize your team’s disciplines, choosing from multiple character classes to create a squad for every playstyle.

Unique Tactical Combat

Engage in immersively strategic combat that will test your mettle under the extreme pressure of the xenos ambush. Access your most powerful weapons and abilities by using Cognition Points and advance on your enemy without pause. Fear not, the Omnissiah favours the brave.

The Library of Immersion

A compelling story written by Black Library author, Ben Counter, specifically crafted to fit the unique personality of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction, with each character having their own personalities and agendas. Feel the tension and admire the devotion with unique visual effects and breathtaking audio.

Difficult Decisions

Make tough decisions that will forge the future from your Ark Mechanicus, The Caestus Metalican, and send you towards alternate endings for a truly unique playthrough. Be warned, however, the more you explore each tomb, the greater the rewards but also greater the threat.

better than xcom

The combat is better than xcom's. Yep, you heard that right. No more RNG BS where you're right in the face of an enemy and miss your shot. Only your own troops can get around 20% dodge change but, otherwise, all attacks hit their intended target(s) for the displayed amount of damage. Armor is a factor here but the UI does a great job to show you who has how much of it provided you've scanned the enemy. The story is a bit flimsy and vague but the atmosphere is undeniably spot on Warhammer 40k. Growing and improving your cohort feels satisfying especially if you consider the fairly hard difficulty you'll be facing at the start of the game when your troops are few and unupgraded. The soundtrack is so good that you'll not only keep it on for the entire playthrough, but you might also enjoy listening to it on its own. Played the game on Linux and it ran beautifully. :)

I love this game so much.

If you want a more concise review watch MandaloreGamings review on the game on his youtube channel. Now its similar to XCom looking at it but if you play it, it stands on its own big time. Now one things to say is the fact that it isnt that hard, the early game is the hard part, in fact it gives a lot of things to the player. However the game allows you to do so much with cognition point system its crazy. My big gripe I have with it is simply some things are too broken. This game gives me a Final Fantasy Tactics feel to me where you can customize your Tech Priests so much to your wim it makes you think about how do you want to make em to be. Now theres no job system you simply pick a level tree and levels are permanent so watch out. Basically it works like FTL except you dont get chased. You are trying to level your tech priests as much as you can before the final boss. But if you find the base game too easy you can adjust the difficulty, and its not just Easy, Normal, Hard, you can actually adjust what the game is like. For example you can turn on permadeath, you can turn on a option where it tells you what to push if you hate guessing. You can adjust your own or your enemies HP. You can make it if you can a revenue of blackstone (You need them to level priests) etc. Admittedly I havent beaten the game yet but I feel satisfied just playing it.

Worth a play

A good WH40K game. If you're interested in turn-based combat with great atmosphere this is worth playing. There are enough enemies to keep things interesting, the battles are tactical and the progression of your characters is good. I was quite happy to see the strategy was not overlooked in terms of the possible weapons you can use and the overall " skill tree " of your characters. The music and sound design is quite impressive, the weapons and enemies sound amazing, and the soundtrack is godly. The art direction of the game overall is what makes this game as great at it is. Definitely would recommend.

Truly Hidden Gem

Wow. Just Wow. I like Warhammer since the ol Dawn of War Days... i also play a lot of Xcom / Xcom. And if you like tactical turn based combat game do yourselfa favor and buy Mechanicus asap. Worth every penny. The gameplay is thight, the game just oozes personality. Art direction is great and the sound.... oh my. The sound design is stellar and the soundtrack is chilling, simply fantastic. The gameplay is a simplier Xcom (combat wise) but it has enough depth out of the combat, leveling and customizing your squad. It's truly a hidden gem. If you like turn based tactical games buy it. If you like Warhammer lore buy it.

Wonderful presentation, great loop

It's like Xcom, but with no RNG about whether you'll hit or not. If that doesn't make you excited then I don't know what will. It's like Darkest Dungeon, but you can TURN OFF THE RNG in dungeon crawling. Thank fing God. Turn-based, tactical strategy that is very deep (deeper than X-com 2 and I love that game) with its cognition point system, canticle prayers, and usable abilities and items on cooldowns. While I wish we had a fully-fleshed out campaign for Necrons and Space Marines and the Tau in addition to Mechanicus this was made by a small team and they knocked it out of the park. Mandalore Gaming is right, too, and the music in this game is jaw-dropping. My only complaints: I want to invidually color my tech priests so I know which is my gun slinger, which is my healer, etc. at a glance. And there is no way to speed up combat, even among the crazy amount of customization there is in the options menu. Praise the Omnisiahh!
