Discover the grim dark universes of Warhammer where there is only war. From Warhammer 40,000 to Warhammer Fantasy and more - discover it all on GOG Warhammer Franchise page.
Take control of one of the most technologically advanced armies in the Imperium - The Adeptus Mechanicus. As Magos Dominus Faustinius, you’ll lead the expedition on the newly rediscovered Necron planet of Silva Tenebris. Customize your team, manage resources, discover long-forgotten tech, and control your Tech-Priests’ every move.
Your every decision will shape the missions ahead and ultimately decide the fate of the troops under your command in over 50 hand-crafted missions. Choose your path carefully - the Imperium depends on it.
Augment
Flesh is weak! Upgrade your Tech-Priests with weapons, support items, Servo-Skulls and other mechanical augments as you assemble your cohort. Customize your team’s disciplines, choosing from multiple character classes to create a squad for every playstyle.
Unique Tactical Combat
Engage in immersively strategic combat that will test your mettle under the extreme pressure of the xenos ambush. Access your most powerful weapons and abilities by using Cognition Points and advance on your enemy without pause. Fear not, the Omnissiah favours the brave.
The Library of Immersion
A compelling story written by Black Library author, Ben Counter, specifically crafted to fit the unique personality of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction, with each character having their own personalities and agendas. Feel the tension and admire the devotion with unique visual effects and breathtaking audio.
Difficult Decisions
Make tough decisions that will forge the future from your Ark Mechanicus, The Caestus Metalican, and send you towards alternate endings for a truly unique playthrough. Be warned, however, the more you explore each tomb, the greater the rewards but also greater the threat.
Canticles of the Omnissiah
Collect in-game achievements and be rewarded with strong abilities that can be used once per mission to aid you in the heat of battle.
This game is amazing! I am a recent fan of Warhammer and got plenty of warhammer games so far, i am moderate fan of turn based games, but this game is incredible. Super fun, has amasing music and voicing, the visuals are incredible and overall for this game price ... i am recommending this game with both hands! Great value for money!
ps: if you can get this game on a discount that is when this game becomes a must and a steal!
This is the first review I have written because this game truly deserves it. This is an incredibly interesting, and fun game to play, even when you don't know all the WH40K lore like me. The game simply draws you in with it's story, lore, mindblowing music and intersting gameplay, the basics of which are easy to learn and give you a ton of space to experiment to find the playstlye and squad that best suits you. The missions are short enough to keep in the moment, and always keep you on your toes, because the objective can change from round to round. Even a simple scouting mission can turn into a frantic escape, during which you are fighting just to stay alive long enough to evacuate your valuable Tech-priests.
I thoroughly recommend this game, even to non-WH40k fans! Go play it, and have fun!
Comparing this to XCOM isn't fair, as this is obviously a more budget oriented offering. But as a WH40K offering, this is pretty much exactly what I expect. There are a lot of qualities to love here; art direction, sound effects and soundtrack in particular are strong points. I feel quite immersed as I play.
Obviously this isn't the most refined tactics game in the world, but it offers plenty of challenge and fun times.
The price is pretty decent for the 15-10 hour offering I've had so far.
If you are into tactics games, I'd reccomend this game if you like the youtube videos. Mandaloregaming's review is pretty good.
If you already are neck deep into the lore and love WH40K in general this is a pretty safe buy.
This game is beyond any indie 40k game I've experienke. By the will of the machine god, the Omnissiah who knows all tekhnology these new mechanics are truly sacred.
Instead of accuracy there is range and line of sight. Instead of cover you have Skitarri, lobotomized human machine hybrids to serve as fodder for your valuable tech priests. There are many more things here but my machine spirit warns me I must go shortly lest me = 0.
The environment looks, the sound and voices divine. The music however is beyond even the Omnissiah Itself.
This humble servitor is pleasantly surprised with the program.
I was on the edge buying this on GOG because of the localisation issue (One could not change language ingame and was stuck with subpar translations of an otherwise well written story). Well, this has been fixed! Chose the language you desire from the ingame options menu.
Furthermore it runs smooth on my notebook too, which only brings an Nvidia MX 250 2 GB card to the necrons tomb (Below minimum system requirements).
- The mechanics bring a smile to every turn based strategy fan
- High replayability
- High customisation of units ...
- ... and difficulty settings (from Snotling-wuss to Emperors-iron man)
- Intriguing story
- Great music
- Interesting voiceovers
