Can't get it to run properly
Let me start by saying I absolutely loved this game back in the day. One of my favorite games from the 90s. I bought it immediately when I found out it was (finally!) available on GOG. Like others have said, I'm having a lot of issues running the game with 64-bit Windows 7 (on a 5-year-old machine). I've tried countless compatibility modes, 256 colors, etc. and nothing seems to get it to work properly. The text box on the bottom of the screen where you choose your text is blacked out so I can't read any conversation options. In fact, much of the screen doesn't render properly and there are black pixels/blotches everywhere. Even the opening screen where you choose Tour or Game is completely black. (The Cyberflix logo at the start displays fine). Other aspects of the screen don't display properly either, so there's a lot of guess/memory work to try and navigate through the game. As far as audio, as others have said, many sentences stop mid-way through the last word the character is saying. And the background music seems to be choppy. I hope there is a patch in the works. I want nothing more to enjoy this classic game once again. But as it is - at least on my Windows 7 machine - I just don't think I'll be able to. Maybe this title just wasn't meant to exist in a playable form on modern machines? Anyone else having these game issues on Windows 7 64-bit?
