Discover the Courage that Turns Heroes Into Legends
From Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan and Braveheart writer Randall Wallace comes an innovative action role playing game set in ancient Greece, Egypt and Asia. The Titans have escaped their eternal prison, wreaking havoc upon the earth. The gods seek a hero who can turn the tide in an epic struggle that will determine the fate of both men and gods.
In this epic quest of good versus evil, players will encounter the greatest villains of Greek mythology, brave the attacks of Cerberus, and hazard the banks of the River Styx. Players will interpret the prophecies of the blind seer Tiresias, fight alongside Agamemnon and Achilles, and use the wiles of Odysseus to conquer this dark new adventure.

This game COULD be one of the best in the genre (if not THE best) if the developers ever cared to fix a game-breaking bug called "rubber banding" - when everything slows down to almost static picture for a few seconds, then suddenly "plays" the "slowed" part at very high rate - most of the time leading to character death, and in case of boss encounters - to a certain death. As far as I know, NO solution was found, and at some point the developers just stopped from responding and discussing at TQ Forums.
I woundnt play this game even if they pay me. This is total, absolute disappointment.
This game has a reputation for being one of the best of it’s kind. And it does live up to being a great game in it’s own right. If you like mouse driven ARPG games, you will certainly enjoy this old-school one. However, it is still very nested in the genre, so don’t expect it to wow anyone over who has no interest in the game type.
Titan Quest is one of the fines examples of how a hack and slash RPG should be made. It offers a simple formula - slay monsters, acquire items to slay bigger monsters to acquire better items ... A formula upon which Diablo 2 was solely based. The comparison between these games is inevitable, so let me share some quick observations:
Titan Quest presents a diverse world spanning across the ancient world - Greece, Egypt and the Orient. The drop is outrageously high, you can find literally anything if you are patient enough. There are two skill sets to choose, thus creating a unique combination. A crafting system (absent in Diablo) is present here. The gameplay is highly addictive, if you are into RPGs. It comes with a pretty decent graphics for a game 15 years old.
To my view this is a polished, bettered version of Diablo - the game allows you to amend mistakes in the character development, there are no small things that distract you from the action (durability of weapons, stamina, not having to pay for portals, a HUGE storage place are among the most important ones), you can buy some weapons just to check whether they fit into your build without going bankrupt, etc. It seems that Titan Quest developers carefully read all the complaints from Diablo players and devoted themselves to eliminate them here. The result is a highly playable and intuitive game that can really amuse you without keeping you on your toes whether you messed up something (hello, Blizzard). Plus, the idea of mini-bosses scattered around the levels and spawning randomly is really good, since it increases the chances of getting some valuable items.
Bottom line - I did not regret a single second of my Titan Quest experience. A solid 5/5.
This version includes Titan Quest, the expansion Immortal Throne, and the new Anniversary Edition edits.
A great single player game and even better co-op game, Titan Quest was the first "real" video game my wife played. Simple enough that she learned PC gaming and the ARPG genre with it while good enough to thrill me, a veteran gamer, there simply isn't any reason not to get TQ and try it out.
Titan Quest is Grim Dawn's predecessor. The two share similar mechanics (such as two "classes" for each player to mix and match) but little else. TQ's colorful landscapes are a nice change of pace from many darker games, though TQ is never cartoony.
For the parents out there, there is blood but nothing like what you find in Diablo. I do not remember any swearing. There is no nudity, and though skimpy outfits abound, they are never sexual. The tone of the game is generally light, the theme is saving the world from evil, and players help humans and fight monsters. There is no crude humor.
Absolutely marvellous! I only discovered this gem in 2017 thanks to GOG, but this is a must have. I always stepped aside from RPG games, and it all changed with Titan Quest. This is one of those games, you can get back to any time, any age. Technical execution of the game is flawless, compatibility excellent.
Once you finish the game, move further with Ragnarok expansion, it's absolutely worth it.
