Discover the Courage that Turns Heroes Into Legends
From Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan and Braveheart writer Randall Wallace comes an innovative action role playing game set in ancient Greece, Egypt and Asia. The Titans have escaped their eternal prison, wreaking havoc upon the earth. The gods seek a hero who can turn the tide in an epic struggle that will determine the fate of both men and gods.
In this epic quest of good versus evil, players will encounter the greatest villains of Greek mythology, brave the attacks of Cerberus, and hazard the banks of the River Styx. Players will interpret the prophecies of the blind seer Tiresias, fight alongside Agamemnon and Achilles, and use the wiles of Odysseus to conquer this dark new adventure.

Someone else already said it!! It's the "Sunny Diablo" and they are very right.
I think the best thing about it is it's amazing attention to detail and that the game NEVER once insults your intelligence or expectations. yes a solid game with real depth and enjoyment that even todays games seem to lack. try it and see why it's loved by everybody who's ever played it. a true gem and a great time killer.
I own a copy of this game on Steam and I gotta say it is a good game for an old ARPG.
There is nothing like the thrill of becoming a random blowk that came into town, people
wanting help, never expecting you to peform a cleansing of any species that posed a problem.
You get to through differrent parts of the world that travel from Greece all that way to the Eastern lands.
The controls are solid with a mouse and keyboard (haven't tried controller if there is support), but there will be times clicking on a specific enemy will be finicky during panic mode when you need to clutch it.
The DLCs associated with this game are great. I cannot say the same for the lastest one in the series. That requires to play three times to unlock it and is only available on the highest difficulty.
I don't think I would have the patients for it, and it doesn't seem like they will change it so everyone can play the DLC due to them working on Titan Quest 2 by the time this review is out and most likely won't when they finish and put out the sequel.
The Ragnorok and Atlantis DLCs are pretty good if you want more content. Highly reccomend to buy them in a bundle at a discount price, but it you feel like you won't play about 150hrs+ to get to the third DLC just buy them separately or in a bundle that excludes the Eternal Embers DLC for this game.
Recommend it for those looking of old school ARPGs
You play a hero trying to save the lands of ancient Greece from a group on ancient baddies that are trying to bring back the Titans and rule the world. That’s all you need to know. Now go whack things.
This game is a diablo clone but it does approach the formula a little differently. The best way to describe the loot system is to say that it is a percentage game. While a lot of the loot adds points directly to your base attributes, the more important loot adds points to your base attributes and a percentage to something else. An example would be a chest piece that adds +10 to your strength. That’s good but one that does that and adds 15% to your poison resistance and gives you a 8% life leech on every hit and adds 10% movement speed and etc. That’s great. The down side? The second breast plate only has an armor rating of 40 compared to the first ones 55.
The other part of the game is the class system which lets you mix and match nine different classes. It’s not to different from what other games have done. The different combinations are neat to play with. Just be forewarned it can be easy to dead end your character due to some of the difficulty spikes in the game. Depending on how you developed your character and your luck in item drops there are only a couple of ways to get over this wall. Either grind until you find something with a resistance against whatever is killing you, respec your character so you have the right skills or start a new character, with a different class combo, and a new game.
The last option isn’t as bad as it sounds since you can transfer the items in a previous play through to your new character and go from there. All in all if your looking for a decent diablo clone to pass the time then give this one a try.
Time Played: 60 hours
As a veteran of most every arpg for pc, I can kindly say this is in my top 3. The graphics are old and out dated. The combat/stat mechanics (etc.), are the BEST of any diablo clone of the era. Better then d2 itself. The game sometimes lags (very rarely) on any machine I've played it on(love that aspect for some reason). You will die many times and pick yourself up again. You will mess up builds and you will start over again. You will listen to the music, watching your character twirl his weapon and dream of a spartan adventure. A shopkeeper will sound like a shopkeeper. The interplay of non combat and combat music is spot on in this game. I'm biased after blizzard nonsense and THQ continues to upgrade this game STILL 14 YEARS after development. A vibrant pve community with people from all over the globe. Doesn't get much better then this.
Amazing game! But it's little bit glitchy:
- Sometimes you just stuck somewhere (rarely, but happens), but thanks for K button for restoring to previous fontain (with saving progress)
- One time happened that enemy was invisible and untargettable, but fortunately I could hit him by Shift+Click and AoE skills
- Had some game speed bug (it was visually changing to slow and fast periodically, but it was Fast in game settings all time), but it disappeared some time later (I have 144hz display, maybe it was a reason, but now it's ok)
- Eletric staff missiles don't match to their hit boxes. It looks big, but hit box seems like fire/frost missile
Also, game UI looks pretty small on 2K display. Yeah, I tried to use scaling in settings, but sometimes text doesn't fit in container (mostly some labels and tooltips).
Regarding to advantages:
- Unique skill system: you can combine 2 different classes that allows you to create a lot of different builds
- A lot of different items to equip
- A interesting monsters and bosses: sometimes you can't just go against a boss with your current equipment (hi Hades, I have 0% of vitality resistance, so please give me one-shot!)
- Can play with my friends
- etc
