Slow Game - Fast Klicking
I'm playing that Game for years (so I'm still used to the old strategie) and can only say, that this is one of the best Strategie Games we have. The game starts slow, works slow but after you are in contact with one or more enemys you have to act quickly. I played Settlers 2 the next Generation but it's not the same, the whole gameplay is changed with only some additional functions. Therefore I'm playing Settlers 2.5 - RttR (www.siedler25.org) the made a REAL remake of that great game, you can play via Internet-Lobby or direct IP, ships are working, some unsefull addons are added but you can chose which you want. All in all a 7 player match is very hard because everybody knows how the game works and thats really hard. So guys, go on playing, Settlers 2 will never have a game you can Compare it to. (except settlers 1 ;))

nice timekiller.
Miss the medievel setting of the first one, but it makes up for it with a bunch of fancy features. And you can even listen to the tune from settlers 1 in the ingame midi-player so it's ok ;) The problem with the game is that the core element of building a infrastructure is a nice timekiller, and much more fun than to really finish the levels. Don't miss the hotkeys "V" for accelerated mode if you don't like waiting for ages while your goods are being transported around your entire kingdom.

Build paths! <3
While the Settlers franchise has seen one incarnation after another, early day fans still believe, that The Settlers II is by far the series best part. It has everything fans of The Settlers (I) wished to have: Beautiful hires graphics, sweet animations everywhere, more races, bigger maps, editor, building hints, fast forward (!) and ... paths! This is no RTS game accidentally called The Settlers, this is The Settlers.

Settlers II
I Came, I Saw, I have yet to fully conquer!! Despute playing it since i was 10!! Best little strategy game I've ever played challenging and fun. Get it if you like that sort.. Peace
