I remember it. Spectrum , night, Lords of Midnight. Yeah... One of the greatest games I ever played. Rest in Peace, Mike. Rest in Peace. You did a very fine job.

Cool retro war game, but not very deep.

Cracking game back in the day and it was the closest game to The Lord of the Rings. Replayed this and beat it in 15 moves with Morkin. Winning by might of arms is the other viable option. Which leads for a longer game of hold and defend from Citadels until the counter attack. Tactically this is a simple game for sure, but I spent loads of time limiting my ways to win.

Brilliant.

Put a million hours into LOM back in the day and still love it as much today. Brilliant strategy RPG that has never been beat right up until 2024.
