The Lords of Midnight

Not only does this feel just like the original game but they've made the interface work better. A remake done VERY right.

God, it's over 25 years since I played it. I'm pretty sure I can remember more then 80% of the keys for each lord. Some time ago found the millimetric paper on which I made the map(was a child back then: each tile had the right color - no clue how I could've shared it, but hey, I needed a correct map :p). Pretty hard to describe the feeling. You read maaany game reviews. Seldom(very very seldom) you know something is "the right one". RIP Mike; damn fine.

This was a great game that occupied many hours of my time and a few rolls of that old heat sensitive printer paper. There was a prize for the first person who completed the game that if they sent in the paper showing their story that it would then be made into a book. Don't know if a book was ever written and I never bothered to send in mine. I completed the game as Morkin in less than 20 moves once, which caught me by surprise when I got there so quickly! The military victory was the one I enjoyed the most with building up my armies in various locations and gradually taking the enemy fortresses one by one. It was one of the most immersive games I could have played at the age of 10/11.

This was the pinnacle in computer gaming at the time, a massive game in such a small amount of K. With such a brilliant premise it deserves to be remembered as a classic. Rest In Peace Mike .
