The Longest Journey

Excellent! Absorbing plot with truly outstanding voice acting. Some excellent puzzles to solve as well. This was like a good book in bed on a winter night.

Think i won on lottery when i found this on gog.com. That means i can play through it for the fourth, fifth time, dunno, lost count. The interesting with The Longest journey is that even if it was first made in English, it was also translated(note with full voice acting also) to other languages like finnish, swedish, norwegian, think there was dutch also and some other languages. I've played it on swedish and english. The longest journey is a very unique game, never seen anything like it. It has a ton of dialogues, and i mean a ton. There are even long dialogues. But none of them will make you yawn, they are all interesting to listen to as the story unfolds. Then add in some extra humor in suitable places and tricky puzzles and you have a winner game. Anyone who likes adventure games should play this. It's also one of the few adventure games of this type that you'll want to play again.

The Longest Journey is excellent value for money. It has a lengthy story, dozens of characters, imaginative locations, a protagonist you'll fall in love with and an ending that will stay with you for a long time. Not a fan of Dreamfall, the sequel. It's kind of unnecessary and messes with the characters you love. The original stands alone though and, like me, you can pretend Dreamfall never happened if you want!

I just got finished playing and I have to say that this was one of the best adventure games I have played! From the voice acting, to the characters, the storyline and artwork made this a very enjoyable game. I didn't want it to end and it was a LONG game to start with! It's not called the 'Longest Journey' for nothing!

This game is proof that excellent voice acting takes a game experience to an enjoyment level equal to a good movie. Longest Journey is more like playing / watching a good book or movie. Playing this in 2010 was every bit as enjoyable as playing it when it was released. Absolutely Love Sarah Hamilton as April Ryan - can't wait for GOG to get Dreamfall.
