Description
The year is 1962 and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear. A top-secret government unit called The Bureau begins investigating a series of mysterious attacks by an enemy more powerful than communism. As agent Carter, call the shots, pull the trigger and lead your squad in a gripping third-person tactical shooter set within a covert war to protect humanity from an otherworldly enemy.

Light Plasma Pistol
Early Bureau research into outsider weapons technology has yielded promising results in the form of a prototype light plasma pistol. Not as bulky as its Outsider predecessor, this compact weapon fires condensed bolts of plasma and boasts a vastly improved rate-of-fire, giving players an early edge in the secret war for humanity’s survival.

CodeBreakers
A top secret government communications facility responsible for intercepting and decoding the enemy’s transmissions has gone radio-silent. In a desperate attempt to turn the tides of the secret war, Special Agent Carter and his squad must investigate the incident, eliminate any threats, and make contact with personnel in order to bring the facility back online and make sense of the mysterious code.

A different XCOM

Great fun, XCOM in a B movie. The combat system works well. It's nice to see something that is not generic

Artificial difficulty

I ran into a snag when my main playable character ran out of ammo. I mean, there are ammo boxes, but none of these will replinish your ammunition enough, especially since the enemies can heal themselves. Quite early on, I had to start relying on my teammates, since they apparently had infinite ammo. Nopt being able to fight back in a tactical shooter is no fun.

wish i had played sooner

never did play this when it came out and boy did i not know what i was missing, as a fan of the mainline xcom games and a fan of shooters in general this feels like a well put together fusion of the two
