Loved it until the last achievement
Awesome game! I enjoy mental gymnastics. The puzzles are varied. The story is intriguing with a sprinkle of mystery and philosophy. Performance and stability are excellent even on decade-old machines. Multiple good decisions have been made in terms of replayability. It was very easy and pleasant to come back to each of the levels to find all secrets. As a completionist I loved that. That’s why I did not mind replaying the game in Developer Commentary mode and in Challenge mode. What I didn’t love was the achievement that requires players to import a 3D model as well as the one that requires players to finish the game in under 30 minutes. After dozens of attempts I’m still going over 30 minutes by a couple of seconds. It’s not a skill issue. I just don’t want to have to take a PhD in a game’s mechanics down to pixel perfect executions, use guides and/or glitches to complete it at 100%. I want to do it naturally, with care and concentration but up to a reasonable degree. Achievements becoming ordeals is where I draw the line. And since the speedrun achievement is an ordeal and the only one I can’t get, I now hate the game because of it. None of the previous pleasant experiences matter to me anymore because that’s how I am – it’s either all or nothing. Last time I was in a similar situation was with Frostpunk – an awesome game with a couple of absurd achievements at the end.

Not particularly engaging
I am rather glad I finished the game - I felt that the last hour really dragged on (which isn't great when your game is only three hours long). I really love all kinds of puzzle games, but like others have stated - this isn't quite that. There are some puzzles, a lot of the time though it's less about thinking your way through something but rather a challenge of "find the door". Which would probably be alright, if the story was more engaging (it isn't) or the surroundings were more interactive (they aren't). Overall, there are a handful of interesting puzzles and nice "optical illusions" but a lot of the time you walk through mostly empty halls and corridors that look very samey.

Worth playing
Very fun and crazy game (in the very good meaning of the word)... The puzzles are really refreshing... The design is fantastic... (I love the progress bars of the game) I recommend it absolutly to people who like puzzle game where the engine of resolution is the intuition. It will open your mind. This is the aim of this game. The solution is sometimes out of the box. You have to immerse into the puzzle to solve it and you succeed in with your intuition. Nevertheless, there are two negative points : - the length of the game... a little too short for a so good game - a few bugs or glitches when passing through doors... sometimes (randomly) you can found yourself out of the decor but I hope it will be solved with a patch (restart from the last control point)

A one of a kind experience
Superliminal is the type of game that will leave a lasting impression on whomever plays it. Its puzzles rely on out-of-the-box thinking and clever use of non-Euclidian geometry. The resulting experience is cerebral, but of a different kind than other puzzle games. It is a very short game, perhaps too short for its price, but every minute of gameplay contributes to a satisfying playthrough that, were it any longer, could overstay its welcome. Definitely recommended.
