WAKE UP
As you fall asleep with the TV on at 3AM, you remember catching a glimpse of the commercial for Dr. Pierce’s Somnasculpt dream therapy program. By the time you open your eyes, you’re already dreaming - beginning the first stages of this experimental program.
PERCEPTION IS REALITY
Explore a dream world where everything is exactly as it seems. Tread carefully as the world slowly unravels around you and subverts your expectations. What you see isn’t always precisely what you get.
MAN VS MACHINE
In this fully-voiced adventure, Dr Glenn Pierce is doing his questionable best to guide you home and out of the dreamscape. His artificial intelligence assistant, however, is having trouble understanding exactly how you’re here at all, and has other plans for you.
DEVELOPER COMMENTARY

CHALLENGE MODE
The overwhelming response from the speedrunning community to Superliminal inspired us to add a new Challenge Mode, which will score you per-level on metrics such as time to finish, grabs, and jumps.
Starts well, but the game mechanics end up detracting from each other.
Finding the puzzle that you're meant to solve is part of the puzzle, and in the later parts of the game it's often a large part of the puzzle. The rooms are decorated with objects that look like you could pick them up, most of them are just scenery, and the way to find out is to mouse-over them and see if the cursor changes. In the later parts of the game, I found myself walking around large areas full of scenery objects, mousing over everything while looking for the puzzle; it lost the pace and fun of the game.
I'm not saying this often but this game really is a freaking masterpiece, from the beginning to the end. There are not many games that actually manage to make a dream world feel actually believable and immersive. The game design is clever and if you love to let yourself fall into a relaxing virtual world and solve some really interesting and clever designed riddles and obstacles with very little frustration, this game is definitely for you. I love how puzzles and riddles are solved in this game and REALLY using the whole "perspective" thing in a logical and proper manner.
The Soundtrack (which i bought too) is also the icing on the cake and really sets the perfect mood for this game. The great thing is you can play the game either as a speed-run challenge. achievement hunt or just to relax and taking your sweet time. So yeah, i think it is fair to say that Superliminal really is a work of art and really is a digital oilpainting in my opinion. Definitely worthy of 5 Stars.
I had lots of fun during my first playthrough and i am definitely going to re-play it again. Especially since the game also lets you build your OWN dreams and share them with others. A feature that was patched into the game after its release and the game really expands on it now.
The game deserves the high praises. No doubt about that. Thank you Pillow Castle! Excellent work!
Fantastic. A real head trip of a game. At first I thought it was just going to be the same mechanic over and over, but they managed to continually surprise me with interesting and funny perspective tricks in novel ways. I quite enjoyed it, end to end
i typically don't play puzzle games but i really liked this one and how is played with optical illusions. There were a couple of moments where it felt impossible until you start thinking outside the box.
The speech at the end is very uplifting and it made my day better.
I recommend it.
Even though it can be finished in three hours or less, this game is worth every cent. It's mysterious, gets a little creepy in the middle and heads on to a fitting finale that becomes more of a walking simulator. Wholesome!
The puzzles are usually on the easy side, with lots of variety and fascinating solutions. But if you need more than ren minutes on the "fan" puzzle (you will know what I mean), do yourself a favour, go to youtube and check out the solution. Chances are you won't be figuring that one out.
Well, now that I finished Superliminal, I must say this was quality time well spent!
