All is not well on the waves— a water crisis is brewing! Mysteriously, this precious resource has become deadly, corroding metal limbs and mechanical hearts. As legendary Captain Leeway, it’s up to you and your ragtag crew of steambots to uncover the source of this threat and save botkind before it’s too late!
TURN-BASED STRATEGY AT ITS BEST
Dive into an upgraded tactical experience that builds on the beloved gameplay of SteamWorld Heist. Every move matters as you plan your turns, position your crew, and carefully aim each shot. Ricochet bullets off walls and use your surroundings to outsmart enemies, but remember—victory hinges on a well-thought-out strategy, not just a quick trigger finger.

Set sail across the vast ocean in your trusty submarine. Face real-time naval combat challenges and steer your crew through tactical ship-to-ship battles while discovering hidden treasures in every wave. Your decisions as captain shape your journey through the Great Sea.
CUSTOMISE YOUR CREW, YOUR WAY
With over 150 weapons, utility items, and ship upgrades, the possibilities for crew customisation are endless. Equip your steambots for every strategy—whether you prefer a sharpshooting sniper or a hammer-wielding bruiser. Unlock new crewmates, jobs, abilities, and gear to perfect your team for each mission.

Immerse yourself in a beautifully crafted world filled with unique environments, eccentric characters, and a captivating story. And yes, Steam Powered Giraffe is back with an all-new soundtrack that will stick with you long after you’ve docked your ship. The fate of botkind rests in your hands—are you ready to lead your crew through treacherous waters?
Firstly, the game is just stunning. The lighting is beautiful and the characters all have fun and varied designs (as goes within the Steamworld franchise). The plot and characters are intriguing and fun as wel.
The combat is similar to the first, but with few qol tweaks and overall improvements. Though the new Job system isn't as great as it could be.
The naval combat is fun is short bursts, but not anything too deep. The movement of the ship isn't bad per say, but it gets way better after getting the boost, making both the combat and movement way more fluid. (hehehe, fluid, like water.)
SteamWorld Heist 2 is a massive improvement over its predecessor. It wouldn't be wrong to claim that, between the traversable world map and the new mechanics, this game is three times as large.
Combat has been streamlined by creating six possible classes. A character can change class at will, and is actively encouraged to multiclass. Furthermore, bots get tired after a mission, and you are then required to swap them out for fresh characters, thus forcing you to experiment with different compositions.
Overall I found this game to be more expanded, more balanced, and more fun.
For me the graphics evoke lost vikings (nostalgic vibes), but the gameplay much more.
Fun gameplay, fun level up system, fun travel system and submarine upgrade. Love the dialogues, the plot and the story.
I think this title is mighty as hom3, iwd, bg or fallout series.
